Chris Rock is making headlines at the moment after Will Smith confronted him for joking about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith, smacking him onstage and yelling “keep my wife’s name out of your f–king mouth.”
During the 2016 Oscars, in Chris‘ opening monologue, he was speaking about the lack of diversity in nominations, and spoke about different stars boycotting, including Jada.

The Academy is responding to criticism from 25 AMPAS members who were upset by the “tone-deaf approach” to Asians during the 2016 Oscars telecast.
“The Academy appreciates the concerns stated, and regrets that any aspect of the Oscar telecast was offensive. We are committed to doing our best to ensure that material in future shows be more culturally sensitive.”
The 25 members included Ang Lee, Christine Choy, Renee Tajima-Pena and Rithy Panh, among others.
The response is largely due to the insensitive bit about the accountants being Asian children.

Jada Pinkett Smith keeps it chic as she makes her way through the airport upon arriving in the country on Sunday (March 6) in Paris, France.
The 44-year-old Gotham actress was joined by her daughter Willow, 15.
Jada was asked about Chris Rock‘s joke about her at the 2016 Oscars.
“Jada said she’s not coming. I was like, ‘Isn’t she on a TV show?’ Jada‘s gonna boycott the Oscars? Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna‘s panties. I wasn’t invited!” Chris said at the award show.
Jada finally responded, saying (via E! News), “It comes with the territory, sweetheart. Hey look, it comes with the territory but we gotta keep it moving. We gotta keep it moving. We gotta keep it moving. There’s a lot of stuff we gotta handle, a lot of stuff in our world right now. We gotta keep it moving.”

Lady Gaga and the sexual assault survivors featured in her Oscars performance this past weekend have gotten matching tattoos.
“We were hanging out backstage and they told me they wanted to get matching tattoos. I didn’t have time to go before the performance, but I wanted to get one with them, so I got mine after the performance,” the 29-year-old entertainer told Z100.
“We all have this matching survivor tattoo. I have to say such a shout-out and a thank you to all of those people who came on stage with me because I’ve never been such a wreck as I was the week before this performance,” she added.
Gaga shared the experience of getting the tattoo, which was done at a parlor in Chicago on Thursday (March 3), on her Snapchat account.

Basketball star Jeremy Lin is speaking out in response to Chris Rock‘s joke about Asian people during the Oscars on Sunday (February 28).
During a sketch, Chris called for “bankers” from finance firm PricewaterhouseCoopers to join him and three small Asian children took the stage.

He joked that the company “sent us their most dedicated, accurate and hard working representatives,” when introducing the children posing as bankers.
Jeremy didn’t agree with the joke and took to his Twitter to share his thoughts.
“Seriously though, when is this going to change?!? Tired of it being ‘cool’ and ‘ok’ to bash Asians smh #Oscars,” Jeremy wrote.
Brie Larson plants a kiss on her boyfriend, musician Alex Greenwald, backstage at the 2016 Academy Awards held at the Dolby Theatre on Sunday (February 28) in Hollywood.
The 26-year-old actress won the Best Actress Academy Award that evening for her work in Room, and it looks like she and Alex were elated!
Alex is a former member of the band Phantom Planet. If you didn’t know, Alex‘s band sang the legendary song “California,” the theme from The O.C.
