Lea Michele had a busy night at the 2023 Tony Awards on Sunday (June 11) in New York City, but she still managed to pack in some meaningful reunions with special people from her past.

The 36-year-old Funny Girl star wasn’t eligible to be nominated for any awards despite enjoying a record-breaking run on Broadway as Fanny Brice. However, she did take the stage to deliver a show-stopping performance of “Don’t Rain on My Parade.”

In between the red carpet, her big number and an afterparty, she managed to meet up with four special people from her past. Three of them were closely related to her time on Glee. Another has a history with her that can be traced back even further in time.

The 2023 Tony Awards took place last night and there were so many moments that happened backstage that you didn’t get to see on TV.

Luckily, photographer Jenny Anderson was backstage to capture everything that went on when the TV cameras weren’t rolling.

The show was held on Sunday night (June 11) at a new venue – the United Palace Theatre in the Washington Heights neighborhood of New York City.

Broadway’s best were honored at the annual event. Lea Michele, Josh Groban, Sara Bareilles, Alex Newell, and so many more celebs performed at the show and we’re photographed backstage while getting ready to appear on stage.

The 2023 Tony Awards were a big hit over the weekend!

The annual award ceremony, which recognizes excellence in live Broadway theatre, brought in a big numbers, according to Variety.

The outlet reports that the CBS airing of the show was “watched by 4.3 million people” on Sunday night (June 11). With that number, it marks the most-watched telecast since 2019.

In 2022, 3.9 million households tuned into the show, which marked the first-ever live coast-to-coast broadcast.

Paramount+ also reported that this years’ show was also the “most live-streamed show ever, with 13% streaming growth compared to last year.”

The pre-show, which aired on Pluto TV, also had big numbers, becoming “the most-watched live event ever since the free ad-supported platform launched in 2013.”

Aaron Rodgers is causing a commotion on social media!

The 39-year-old NFL quarterback made an appearance at the 2023 Tony Awards held at United Palace in New York on Sunday night (June 11), posing alongside teammate C.J. Uzomah at the event.

It wasn’t long before the sports star’s appearance quickly made the rounds online, much to the amusement of viewers.

Viewers noticed that Aaron looked amusingly lost in the crowd when the cameras cut to him, instantly turning his reactions into a meme.

Anna Wintour was on hand to watch her daughter Bee Carrozzini win a Tony at the 2023 Tony Awards on Sunday night (June 11).

The 73-year-old iconic Vogue editor walked the red carpet at the United Palace Theatre in New York City’s Washington Heights wearing a chic gold dress and sunglasses. Her 35-year-old daughter posed for photos with her wearing an olive velvet dress.

Her mother was also on hand to celebrate when her daughter picked up a win during the big show.

Will Swenson hit the stage for a performance from his Broadway musical A Beautiful Noise at the 2023 Tony Awards!

The 50-year-old actor performed his rendition of “Sweet Caroline” at the show on Sunday night (June 11) at the United Palace Theatre in New York City’s Washington Heights.

A Beautiful Noise uses the music of Neil Diamond to tell the story of the music icon’s life with Will portraying him. He led a singalong with some of the biggest stars on Broadway!

Will walked the red carpet earlier in the night with his wife Audra McDonald, who was nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play for her work in Ohio State Murders.
