Cameron Diaz is opening up about her marriage to Benji Madden and her deep love for cooking for friends and family.

The 47-year-old actress opened up in a new interview for longtime friend and makeup artist Gucci Westman’s YouTube series “Makeup & Friends,” which promoters her Westman Atelier makeup line.

On her husband Benji: “I love being married. The best thing that’s ever happened to me is finding my husband, our partnership, his friendship.” (They share a newborn daughter Raddix.)

On returning to acting: “I’m never going to say never. I’m not a person who says never about anything.” (Cameron’s last on-screen appearance was 2015′s remake of Annie. She hit the red carpet for the world premiere on December 7th of that year.)

On red carpet being so different now compared to years ago: “For my premieres, I would just go to [the now closed department store] Barneys and buy clothes and throw it on to my premiere. It wasn’t a whole production where you get judged, rated, scored for how you looked. You weren’t objectified.”

On cooking being her passion now: “Now that I’m home for six years, half of my house… is my kitchen. (laughs) When I feed the people I love, the thing that I want for them to have is the experience of feeling like it hit their heart, that they can feel my love. I want to cry. (tears). My food is my love language.”

Cameron Diaz explained how her and her husband Benji Madden‘s opposite sleep schedules actually help them with their newborn daughter Raddix!

“Benji wants to go to bed late, and I like to go to bed early… that works so well for us as parents. I can go to bed a few hours early and he does those later feeds with her,” Cameron said during an Instagram Live with celebrity makeup artist Gucci Westman. “I can wake up early and be with her in the morning and [Benji] can sleep.”

“I literally get up and don’t stop moving until I lay my head down on the pillow.” she said, “I’m so used to going, going, going. My engine starts and I don’t idle through the day.”

And about the uncertainty in the pandemic, Cameron said, “None of us know what’s going to happen, when this is going to end [or] what the new start is.”

“I’ve thought of a million things: ‘Are we going to move away? Where do we raise our child?’ All those things you think about,” she added about how she’s preparing herself for the unknown.

Cameron Diaz is speaking out for the first time since becoming a mom to her three-month-old daughter Raddix!

“I love being a mother. It’s the best, best, best part of my life,” the actress said in the Tuesday video. “I’m so, so grateful and so happy and it’s the best thing ever and I’m so lucky to get to do it with Benji and we’re just having the best time. It’s so great. I’m just thrilled,” Cameron said during an Instagram Live with her friend Katherine Power.

“I’ve kinda been living a quarantine life anyhow because I have a three-month-old, or a three-and-a-half-month old. So my life has been completely quiet and still for the last few months. But I was able to have my friends over all the time. And now I just don’t see anybody,” she added. “But it’s nice, and I love a bubble, I love being in the womb of my home with my husband and cooking. But at the same time it’s crazy that you can’t go out to the world right now.”

“I have to cook at night,” Cameron said about shelter-in-place life. “After we do bath time with our baby and we put her to sleep, Benji puts her to bed, he’s so good. He’s such an amazing father. I’m so lucky he’s my baby’s daddy. He’s so incredible. He puts her down and I go into the kitchen and I start dinner and I pour myself a nice glass of red wine. I start my cooking, I put on my show, whatever it is.”

And she revealed how she’s getting through it. “The way I’m making it through this time is by staying in the present,” she said. “I stay in the here and now.”

Benji Madden was feeling the love for his new baby, Raddix, and wife Cameron Diaz.

The 40-year-old Good Charlotte guitarist, who welcomed his first child with Cameron late last year, shared a thankful and sweet note on social media.

“My Wife and Daughter fill me up with so much gratitude❤️,” Benji wrote on Instagram alongside a drawing of some roses. “Everyday, I feel so lucky❤️.”

He added, “Just wanted to say it out loud!!! Much Love & Best Wishes ❤️❤️❤️.”

According to her birth certificate, obtained by The Blast, the little girl’s entire name is Raddix Chloe Wildflower Madden.

The document also noted that Raddix was born on December 30, 2019 at 1:58 PM at Cedar’s Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Apparently, the couple welcomed the baby girl “right before New Years in Los Angeles.”

“You can tell they are just the happiest,” a source told People. “It’s very emotional for them.”

The couple announced the news of their daughter’s birth just a few days ago, writing, “Happy New Year from the Maddens! We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden.”
