Patty Jenkins Speaks Out About Brett Ratner Allegations After Presenting Him an Award Last Week

Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins has released a statement on Twitter about the Brett Ratner allegations, where actresses such as Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge spoke out about sexual misconduct.

“I’m extremely distressed to read these terrible allegations against Brett Ratner. When I spoke of Brett, I spoke of my own experiences with him, which were not these at all. I have never witnessed nor been aware of anything that is now being described. To be very clear, I am definitely not okay with this kind of behavior,” Patty wrote on Twitter. “Sexual harassment and assault are NEVER okay and I stand with and defend all of the men and women who are revealing these horrific encounters all over this industry and this world. I hope their disclosures bring about real change for all of us, and I am deeply grateful to them for their bravery.”

In her statement, Patty is referring to Sunday night’s Jewish National Fund, where she presented Brett with the Tree of Life award.

Brett Ratner Is Suing a Woman Who Accused Him of Being a 'Rapist' on Facebook

Brett Ratner has filed a defamation lawsuit.

The 48-year-old director and producer, who was met with sexual harassment allegations made by six women in the L.A. Times on Wednesday (November 1), filed the suit against Melanie Kohler in Hawaii federal court after she wrote a Facebook post calling him a “rapist,” according to documents obtained by Variety.

Melanie was not a part of the L.A. Times report. Instead, she posted her story on Facebook more than a week prior to the report. Brett‘s lawsuit describes her Facebook post as libel.

“Commencing on or about October 20, 2017, Defendant recklessly and/or intentionally posted a statement on her Facebook page claiming that ‘Brett Ratner raped [her];’ ‘Ratner was a rapist on at least one night in Hollywood about 12 years ago’; and Ratner ‘preyed on me as a drunk girl [and] forced himself upon me,’” the lawsuit declares.

Brett is seeking general, special, and punitive damages, claiming that the post caused him extreme distress and harmed his personal and professional reputation.

Brett Ratner Accused of Sexual Assault & Misconduct By Olivia Munn, Natasha Henstridge & More

Director and producer Brett Ratner, who has had a hand in making movies including X-Men: The Last Stand, The Revenant and Horrible Bosses, has been accused of sexual assault or misconduct by six women in Hollywood. Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge are two of the women who have come forward to tell their stories.

Natasha, who most recently could be seen in the TV series Medinah, alleges that the 48-year-old director forced her to perform oral sex on him when she was 19 years old.

“He strong-armed me in a real way. He physically forced himself on me,” she said. “At some point, I gave in and he did his thing,” Natasha told the LA Times.

Natasha added that she recently auditioned for Brett’s TV show Prison Break, and he acted like they were old friends.

“I had two young kids and had to go to work and make a living. And he just acted like we were old friends from back in the day in New York, saying, ‘I haven’t seen you in years.’ Auditioning is already bad enough. But trying to focus on the work, I just felt sick,” she said.

Olivia alleges that Ratner performed a sex act on himself in front of her in 2004 on the set of After the Sunset.

“He walked out … with his belly sticking out, no pants on, shrimp cocktail in one hand and he was furiously masturbating in the other,” Olivia said. “And before I literally could even figure out where to escape or where to look, he ejaculated.”

“I’ve made specific, conscientious choices not to work with Brett Ratner,” Olivia added. “It feels as if I keep going up against the same bully at school who just won’t quit…You just hope that enough people believe the truth and for enough time to pass so that you can’t be connected to him anymore.”

“That did leave an impact on me,” she continued. “How broken do women have to be before people listen?”

Actresses Katharine Towne, Jaime Ray Newman, and more have also shared their stories in this exposé.

Ratner‘s lawyer is vehemently denying the allegations, saying, “I have represented Mr. Ratner for two decades, and no woman has ever made a claim against him for sexual misconduct or sexual harassment. Furthermore, no woman has ever requested or received any financial settlement from my client.”

Jared, who is fronting Gucci’s campaign, also talked about his skin routine. “I don’t do any beauty routine, in my own personal life. I try to eat as good as I can, and I try to sleep,” Jared expressed. “But for films, I would do whatever it takes. I made a movie in Budapest, Bladerunner, and it was a lot of makeup and big transformation. [For] another movie in Japan I had tattoos everywhere – all over my body, my whole body – it was crazy. Eight hours in makeup.”
