The parties entered the agreement back in January but it was only recently approved by a judge.

'Bachelor' Star Chris Soules to Be Sentenced for 2017 Fatal Car Crash

Chris Soules is about to be sentenced.

The 37-year-old former Bachelor star will be sentenced for a deadly car crash this week, according to USA Today on Tuesday (May 21).

The judge denied a request to delay the sentencing on Friday (May 17) following the April 2017 car crash that killed 66-year-old man Kenny Mosher.

Chris was charged with a felony for leaving the scene of a deadly accident and pled guilty in 2018 to leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.

His attorneys requested a sentencing delay on Monday (May 20) citing Iowa state’s lack of response to a motion they filed for a presentence investigation report, which includes details about a defendant’s background and an assessment of the likelihood of reoffending. The report is meant to provide a judge with information that could be relevant to sentencing.

He faces up to two years in prison, and has the ability to withdraw his guilty plea if a judge doesn’t accept the plea agreement. He can also request a deferred judgment or suspended sentence, which would let him avoid prison and possibly remove the charge from his record.

Chris entered the guilty plea on Tuesday (November 13) in the Iowa’s Buchanan County – where the accident occurred – to one count of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, which would be considered an aggravated misdemeanor.

According to the Iowa District Court, the aggravated misdemeanor charge “carries a maximum penalty of imprisonment of not more than two (2) years and/or by a fine of not more than six thousand two hundred and fifty dollars ($6,250.00) and a minimum penalty of a fine of six hundred twenty-five dollars ($625.00) along with a suspended jail sentence or a deferred judgment.”

Back in April 2017, Chris was arrested after hitting a John Deere tractor trailer with his truck, killing the driver, and then fleeing the scene before police arrived.
