Chris Wood & 'Almost Famous' Cast Team Up with Legendary Photographer Neal Preston for Broadway Portraits

The Broadway show Almost Famous has teamed up with legendary rock photographer Neal Preston to shoot exclusive photos that will be featured in the upcoming production!

Cameron Crowe, who wrote the book and co-lyrics for the musical, also wrote and directed the movie of the same name. The story is semi-autobiographical and is based on his days as a teenage writer for Rolling Stone.

When Crowe was just shy of 15-years-old, he met 20-year-old Preston at the San Diego Sports Arena and they became lifelong friends. 50 years later, they’re teaming up for this new project!

We have some behind-the-scenes photos from Julieta Cervantes, who captured the photo shoot that Neal and Cameron held with the actors. Cast members featured in the photos include Chris Wood, Drew Gehling, Matt Bittner, and Brandon Contreras.

Almost Famous is as close to being in a time machine and getting transported to 1973 as you’ll ever get,” Neal remarked on set.

Cameron said, “Those Neal Preston images we all know, the ones that have made rock history, exist because he’s a fan. Even the artists know it. You can see it in the way they regard his camera. Neal shares his photographic front-row seat with everybody who loves music and feels the same passion as he does. It’s a rare and colorful thing to work alongside him. Many of the stories told in Almost Famous came directly from our assignments.”

Almost Famous begins preview performances at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre on October 3 ahead of an official opening night performance on November 3. Tickets are on sale now!

Melissa Benoist is love being a new momma!

The 32-year-old Supergirl actress spoke about her newborn son, Huxley Wood, in a brand new interview.

“Oh, man, he’s the best,” Melissa gushed about her son during an Instagram Live video with Congresswoman Karen Bass. “I am loving being a parent. I love being a mom. He’s such a sweetheart.”

She added that Huxley is already “so big and every day I’m, like, crying because he’s gained half an ounce.”

“Huxley Robert Wood got here a few weeks ago ♥️ and this little boy is everything,” she wrote.
