Tori Kelly Debuts Beautiful Song Written For Christina Grimmie

Tori Kelly wrote a beautiful new song in memory of Christina Grimmie.

The 23-year-old singer explained that while the song was written because of Christina, it applies to all the heartbreak going on right now.

“This song was written for Christina Grimmie after she passed away tragically. I needed to write this song. Thank you to my good friend, Zac Poor, who was brave enough to take on the challenge of writing it with me,” she wrote.

Tori continued, “My heart was & is still so heavy when i think of her not being with us. However, I am still comforted knowing that I’ll get to see her again someday in heaven. My prayers go out to her family & loved ones.”

“Even though this song had specific meaning, more recently I’m overwhelmed at the pain & the brokenness in the world today, & so this is really just me grieving. at all of it. Life is so short.
Thanks for listening, I love you guys,” she added.

Christina Grimmie's Family Releases Statement A Month After Her Death

Christina Grimmie‘s loved ones have released a heart-wrenching statement after laying the 22-year-old singer to rest late last month.

The Voice star was tragically shot in Orlando last month by a deranged fan. Her family – mom Tina, dad Bud and brother Marcus – has spoken out for the first time since laying her to rest last month.

“The outpouring of love and generosity that has been displayed to our family throughout these last few weeks has far exceeded anything we could have ever imagined,” the family told People. “As we have always known, Christina’s life was so very special, not only to us, but to everyone she touched with her joyful heart, beautiful voice and love for life and the Lord.”

They added, “Words cannot express what the many memorials, donations and tributes shared by Christina’s fans and those in the media and entertainment industry mean to us. She will live on in our hearts forever. We will take our time in determining the best ways to honor Christina moving forward.”

Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas welcome Andra Day to the stage for a special performance in memory of the Pulse nightclub shooting victims on Saturday (July 2) at the Amway Center in Orlando, Fla.

The Future/Now Tour collaborators sang Andra‘s hit song “Rise Up” with her for the tribute. The names of the victims, along with Christina Grimmie, were scrawled on the screen behind the performers throughout the song.

“This song is incredibly inspiring and she is incredibly inspiring,” Nick said while welcoming Andra to the stage. Before the performance, the audience was led in group prayer.

Justin Bieber Pays Tribute to Christina Grimmie & Pulse Victims During Orlando Concert (Video)

Justin Bieber paid tribute to the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting during his tour stop in Orlando on Thursday night (June 30).

The 22-year-old singer confirmed last month that he would not cancel his Orlando show following the tragic shooting.

While singing his song “Purpose,” Justin projected the names of the 49 victims on a screen behind him. He ended the tribute by flashing Christina Grimmie‘s name. She was killed in Orlando days before the shooting when a deranged fan shot her after her concert.

The co-founders of VidCon, Hank and John Green, paid tribute to the late Christina Grimmie in this touching and emotional video which played during the event over the weekend.

“Christina Grimmie, a passionate and dedicated, innovated and talented YouTube creator, was killed after her concert, and then the next day 49 people were murdered at a gay club in Orlando,” John said to the audience.

“Her innovation and her generosity will affect this industry and this community forever and I’m proud of that. Her memory will always be with us. A bunch of her friends reached out to us because they wanted to share a tribute that they were putting together in her memory. So please join us in listening to and watching dozens of YouTubers and her friends who worked with her performing one of her songs ['With Love'],” Hank added.

Christina Grimmie‘s parents Bud and Tina tear up while speaking at her memorial service on Friday night (June 17) in Medford, N.J.

The 22-year-old singer was murdered by a deranged fan after her concert in Orlando last week and she was laid to rest on Thursday.

Christina‘s parents, her brother Mark, and other friends and family members spoke during the memorial service, which was shown live on TV.

“I always told her I loved her… I just want her to come home and I want to see her… I was really mad, but when Christina went home to be with the Lord Jesus, I told him ‘I’m not mad. I’m not mad. But I want to know why.’ I’m just taking one day at a time and the prayers that hold me up,” Tina said during the service.

Christina Grimmie's Mom Breaks Down While Recalling The Last Time She Saw Her Daughter

Christina Grimmie was laid to rest during a private funeral on Friday morning (June 18) and later that day a public memorial service was held where friends and fans could pay tribute to the late singer.

During the service, Christina‘s parents Tina and Bud took the chance to remember her.

“The last time I saw my daughter was on my birthday. It was May 25th and the day before, the 24th we had a mother-daughter – we always have a mother-daughter time. We’d go get something to eat and talk and then we went on my birthday – me, Bud, Christina and Mark – we went to Cheesecake Factory and it was really nice. And then they had to get things ready for tour,” Tina explained, before breaking down into tears.

Tina added, “I always told her I loved her…I just want her to come home and I want to see her…I was really mad, but when Christina went home to be with the Lord Jesus, I told him ‘I’m not mad. I’m not mad. But I want to know why.’ I’m just taking one day at a time and the prayers that hold me up.”

Bud also spoke, saying, “There’s this gigantic hole in my heart that I know is never going to go away. Never going to go away…She’s better off. She’s way more alive now than she’s ever been. She’s not going to be hurt anymore.”
