The Accountant 2 is happening, and several stars are joining the cast!

Four big stars have just signed deals to return for the follow-up to The Accountant, Deadline reported on Thursday (March 7).

The Gavin O’Connor-directed action thriller was originally released in 2016, and grossed over $155 million worldwide, going on to be the most-rented film of 2017.

The movie starred Ben Affleck as “a highly skilled CPA with autism who leads a double life as a forensic accountant for criminal organizations. When his Christian Wolff uncovers discrepancies in a legitimate robotics company, he must navigate a dangerous web of deceit while staying one step ahead of both the law and his criminal clients.”

Here’s a plot summary for the sequel: “Medina’s former boss is killed by unknown assassins, and she’s forced to contact Christian to solve the murder. With the help of his estranged but highly lethal brother Brax, Chris applies his brilliant mind and less-than-legal methods to piece together the unsolved puzzle. As they get closer to the truth, the trio draw the attention of some of the most ruthless killers alive — all intent on putting a stop to their search.”

The original director is back, directing from a script written by the original film’s screenwriter, Bill Dubuque. And four stars from the movie are back too!

Darren Criss hops up on stage to perform for the 2023 MPTF NextGen Summer Party held at NeueHouse Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon (August 6).

The 36-year-old actor and musician hosted the event, which was attended by a bunch of stars including The Rings of Power‘s Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Camilla Belle, Yvette Nicole Brown, Colman Domingo, Cristo Fernández, Janina Gavankar, Jason George, Max Greenfield, and Clark Gregg.

Ben Barnes was also spotted in the crowd alongside Olivia Holt, Michael Rooker, Reid Scott, Harry Shum Jr, Tiffany Smith, Bailee Madison, Sharon Lawrence, Lisa Edelstein, Paloma Cinco, and Kelsie Mcdonald.

If you’re unaware, the the MPTF’s (Motion Picture & Television Fund) mission is to take care of the “entertainment community in living and aging well, with dignity and purpose, and in helping each other in times of need.”

The funds raised during the party will “help those who are directly affected as we weather these challenging times”, according to NextGen co-chair Jeffrey R. Epstein.

Charlize Theron, Issa Rae, and Margot Robbie were among the many stars who stepped out for The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Breakfast Gala!

Many stars walked the red carpet for the annual event on Wednesday morning (December 7) at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

The annual breakfast coincided with the publication of The Hollywood Reporter’s annual Power 100 Women in Entertainment list, and celebrated the accomplishments of entertainment leaders and changemakers in Hollywood.

Charlize was honored with the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award and Issa was recognized with the Equity in Entertainment Award.

Seth Rogen presented the award to Charlize and she said in her acceptance speech, “I take this leadership award less as a mark of accomplishment, but more as a challenge to keep doing the work. I want us to keep each other accountable, use each other as resources and push each other to keep using our voices and platforms for something greater than ourselves.”

Issa‘s Insecure co-star Yvonne Orji presented the award to her and said, “There are a few things you can bet that Issa Rae will always do…But what stands out most for me, is her unfailing support of the marginalized, her extreme selflessness, her dogged belief that everyone can win and people of color should have the same opportunity to fail and be given another chance at success—because that’s true equality.”

We have exclusive photos to share from the upcoming Prime Video movie The People We Hate at the Wedding, including a new shirtless still of Dustin Milligan!

The raunchy comedy follows dysfunctional American siblings Alice (Kristen Bell) and Paul (Ben Platt), along with their ever-optimistic mom (Allison Janney), who are invited to the British wedding of their estranged half-sister Eloise (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) as a chance for them to reconnect as–more or less–adults, and learn to love each other like they once did.

Based on the trailer, Dustin appears to be a love interest for Kristen, who she meets on the plane to London while sitting together in business class.

The movie will be launching globally on Prime Video on November 18. Make sure to stream it this weekend!

For those who don’t know, Dustin is best known for his roles as Ted Mullens in Schitt’s Creek and Ethan Ward in 90210.

Sophia Nomvete, Cynthia Addai-Robinson and Ismael Cruz Cordova step out for a special Lord of the Rings: The Rings Of Power event in Lucca, Italy.

The trio of stars were joined by mega fans of the Tolkien inspired Prime Video series during the 2022 Lucca Comics & Games convention.

Sophia, Cynthia and Ismael hit the event just ahead of season two filming starting.

In a new interview, showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay revealed that fan criticisms of the show during the first season will affect season two.

The new trailer for The People We Hate At The Wedding is finally here!

Kristen Bell, Allison Janney, Ben Platt and The Rings of Power actress Cynthia Addai-Robinson star in the upcoming comedy for Prime Video.

Here’s a summary: Struggling American siblings Alice (Bell) and Paul (Platt) reluctantly agree to attend the wedding of their estranged, wealthy half-sister (Addai-Robinson) in the English countryside alongside their mother, Donna (Janney).

Over the course of the wedding week, the family’s many skeletons are wrenched from the closet, and the unlikely reunion gives everyone the motivation to move their own lives forward. A modern wedding comedy for anyone with a slightly dysfunctional family (everyone), or anyone who’s been forced to attend a wedding they tried to avoid (also everyone).

Karan Soni, Dustin Milligan, Tony Goldwyn, Isaach De Bankolé, Jorma Taccone, Julian Ovenden, and John Macmillan also star.

The film premieres November 18 on Prime Video.

The ladies of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power looked amazing at the show’s panel during the 2022 PaleyFest NY held at Paley Museum on Saturday (October 8) in New York City.

Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Nazanin Boniadi, and Sara Zwangobani joined their co-stars Benjamin Walker, Daniel Weyman, Charles Edwards, and Leon Wadman at the event, just a few days after attending the show’s panel during NYCC.

During the weekend of events, showrunner J.D. Payne addressed criticisms that the show’s pacing was too slow.

He told The Hollywood Reporter that the pacing throughout the first season is about just right: “I hope that people can key in for the journey.”

“A lot of blockbusters have a breakneck pace where you’re wheeled from one set piece to the next until it all collapses under its own weight,” he continued. “Tolkien will take his time and let you sink into characters, to a journey, and journeys can be hard in Tolkien. I hope people will have the patience to settle in for a Tolkien epic.”
