Shawn Mendes & Khalid Unveil Powerful 'Youth' Music Video - Watch Now!

Shawn Mendes and Khalid‘s “Youth” music video is a call to action.

The 20-year-old “In My Blood” crooner and the 20-year-old “Love Lies” singer shared the visual with fans on Monday (November 5), just ahead of the midterm elections.

Co-written by Marjory Stoneman Douglas students Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg, director Anthony Mandler, and Larry Jackson, the seven-minute video spotlights over 30 inspiring young people from around the world.

The young activists, painters, dancers, gun violence survivors, musical prodigies, and many more are splashed against a stunning New York City backdrop.

“For the ‘Youth’ video, we wanted to make something that would highlight and empower young people, by giving the stage to a group of extraordinary kids,” Shawn said. “Khalid and I wanted them to be the focus of the video, and to give them a platform, in the hope that it can inspire other young people to pursue what they love and use their voice.”

Rowan Blanchard & Emma Gonzalez Discuss the Challenges of Activism (Video)

Rowan Blanchard and Emma Gonzalez share a hug while appearing together on stage for a panel at the 2018 Teen Vogue Summit on Saturday (June 2) at The New School in New York City.

The 16-year-old A Wrinkle in Time and the 18-year-old MSD student have been friends since meeting at the March for Our Lives and they spoke out about the challenges of activism.

“I have so many other things I want to talk about that are unrelated to gun control — or things that are in addition to gun reform,” Emma said. “And I can’t talk about them as much as I want to, because if I don’t focus on one centralized message, it gets lost.”

“That’s the thing about activism,” Rowan added. “You can’t do it all.”

Rowan was joined at the event by her Girl Meets World co-star Corey Fogelmanis while Emma was joined by MSD classmates Jaclyn Corin and Sarah Chadwick.

FYI: Rowan is wearing a Diane von Furstenberg dress.

Parkland Students React to Santa Fe High School Shooting

Students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., are voicing their powerful sentiments after learning about multiple fatalities by another shooter at Santa Fe High School in Texas.

The Parkland survivors and March for Our Lives activists took to Twitter on Friday (May 18) to share their sympathy and thoughts.

“Santa Fe High, you didn’t deserve this,” Emma Gonzalez wrote. “You deserve peace all your lives, not just after a tombstone saying that is put over you. You deserve more than Thoughts and Prayers, and after supporting us by walking out we will be there to support you by raising up your voices.”

“We are fighting for you,” David Hogg shared, while Jaclyn Corin added, “My heart is so heavy for the students of Santa Fe High School. It’s an all too familiar feeling no one should have to experience. I am so sorry this epidemic touched your town – Parkland will stand with you now and forever.”

Ten have been killed in the new shooting, and several others have been injured, CNN reports, adding that is the 22nd U.S. school shooting this year, and the third time in eight days that a gunman was on a school campus.
