JP Saxe appears to have his split with Julia Michaels on his mind.
The 29-year-old singer/songwriter and his “If The World Was Ending” collaborator broke up back in September.
He released his track “When You Think of Me” shortly thereafter. Her breakup track “Sorry to Me Too” followed last week. Now, JP is looking back on a former relationship once again on his new song “The Good Parts.”

The longtime musical couple have apparently split, according to sources via People.
The insider confirms that the couple, who wrote “If the World Was Ending” together, broke up after three years together.

Julia Michaels just dropped her debut album Not in Chronological Order and she’s explaining how her boyfriend JP Saxe inspired the music.
The 27-year-old “Issues” singer has been dating JP, 28, ever since 2019, when they wrote the Grammy-nominated song “If the World Was Ending” together.
“We have something good,” Julia told People about her relationship with JP, who co-wrote two songs on the new album.
Julia opened up about the type of relationships she was in before her one with JP. She said, “I was very drawn to drama and toxicity and to a certain way that I thought love was supposed to be. I thought that because I am who I am, I deserved a certain type of love, and I was so wrong.”
“Then you spend every single day with someone for an entire year that is wonderful and loving and communicative and meets you halfway … I got to fall in love in a very weird situation. I’m very grateful,” she added.
“We figured if the first song we wrote together got us a Grammy nomination, we should keep writing together,” Julia said. The two songs they co-wrote for the album are “All Your Exes” and “Little Did I Know. You can listen to them both below!

The two stars are nominated for Song of the Year at this year’s show for “If the World Was Ending.”
The other songs nominated in the category are Beyonce‘s “Black Parade,” Roddy Ricch‘s “The Box,” Taylor Swift‘s “Cardigan,” Post Malone‘s “Circles,” Dua Lipa‘s “Don’t Start Now,” Billie Eilish‘s “Everything I Wanted,” and H.E.R.‘s “I Can’t Breathe.”

JP Saxe and Maren Morris teamed up on the new song “Line By Line” and you can watch the music video right here!
The video finds the two music stars serenading each other in a variety of settings, including in a car and on a bed in the middle of an ocean.
“I have always loved being contemplative of the artist vs. muse relationship in songs,” Maren said in a statement. “‘Line by Line’ acts as a promise that I’ll never be done writing about my muse in this life because he can’t be summed up in one song. Writing that day with JP was the most fluid, inspiring session. He’s a lyrical faucet. He threw out the line ‘immortalizing my sincerity’ and it blew my mind. I think all in all, we wrote the whole song in an hour and immediately recorded it.”
JP added, “My first thought about this song is that it’s surreal I get to be sharing it with one of my favorite artists ever. Regarding what it’s about…as songwriters, we spend a lot of our lives trying to bottle up a feeling into a song, and often, the biggest feelings, the best ones… the complicated, detailed, messy, incredible ones… just aren’t going to fit. ‘Line by Line’ is our recognition of that… of how one song just isn’t enough to capture it all, but how we’re just going to keep writing, futilely and lovingly, anyway.”
Both Maren and JP are nominated for awards at the 2021 Grammys, which will take place on March 14.
