Netflix Debuts Trailer for 'Masters of the Universe' Reboot Series - Watch Here!

Netflix has debuted the trailer for the upcoming animated series Masters of the Universe: Revelation!

The first part of the season, which will consist of five episodes, will debut on the streaming service on July 23.

The reboot of the classic franchise, which serves as a sequel to the 80s series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, was developed by Kevin Smith.

Here is the official synopsis: “The war for Eternia culminates in “Masters of the Universe: Revelation,” an innovative and action-packed animated series that picks up where the iconic characters left off decades ago. After a cataclysmic battle between He-Man and Skeletor, Eternia is fractured and the Guardians of Grayskull are scattered. And after decades of secrets tore them apart, it’s up to Teela to reunite the broken band of heroes, and solve the mystery of the missing Sword of Power in a race against time to restore Eternia and prevent the end of the universe.”

Kevin Smith Weighs In On Claims That Joss Whedon Trash Talked Zack Snyder on 'Justice League' Set

Kevin Smith revealed some new intel on the controversy surrounding Joss Whedon and his takeover of the Justice League set.

If you recall, Joss was called in after Zack Snyder had to leave due to a family emergency.

Joss took over the film and according to a second hand comment from Kevin, trashed Zack‘s work that he did on the film.

Kevin explained on his FatMan Beyond podcast (via) that he recalled a story he heard someone who had worked on the Justice League set about Joss‘ behavior.

“Remember when I went to the Skywalker [Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker] set, some people had worked on both versions of Solo and both versions of Justice League,” he said. “The special effects guy said there was a fair amount of trashing Zack’s version of the movie on set by Joss…that [Whedon] would cut down, dismiss, and be negative about Zack’s version, which he had seen and all these people had made together without him.”

The comment comes after Ray Fisher, who played Cyborg in the movie, called out Joss‘ abusive behavior on the set.

After retracting his statement of support for Joss, Ray shared that he “was gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable” on the set.

Kevin Smith Says Harvey Weinstein Wouldn't Pay Him Royalties on 'Clerks'

Kevin Smith says that Harvey Weinstein refused to pay him royalties for Clerks, Variety reports.

The 49-year-old filmmaker sold Clerks, his first movie, to the 68-year-old disgraced film producer at the 1994 Sundance Film Festival, when Harvey ran Miramax.

Harvey reportedly paid $227,000 for the movie, but they agreed that Kevin could receive a backend if the film became profitable.

Clerks went on to become a cult hit, grossing $3.2 million in North American theaters that fall, and earning tens of millions more on VHS.

“I’m still out money,” Kevin told the outlet. “It took seven years for us to see any profit from that movie. For seven years, they were like: ‘Nope, the movie is still not in profit.’ And we were like, ‘How?’ And then there were things.”

Harvey also apparently used sketchy accounting methods, such as billing Clerks for the costs of renting a yacht for Pulp Fiction at the Cannes Film Festival.

“You can’t tell this fairytale story without mentioning the monster,” Kevin said while discussing his upcoming documentary Clerk.

When his lawyer said he should audit Miramax, Kevin replied, “No, I can’t audit people I’m in business with. That’s gross.” By Clerks 2, though, Kevin started auditing The Weinstein Company: “If I was a better business person, I would have gone for more money. But it felt like, ‘Oh, there it is. That’s their process. Movie math.’”

Kevin kept working with Harvey because “I got paid upfront for each movie. Believe me, I ain’t crying poor. And I got ridiculous escalating salaries.”

Clerk was supposed to debut at the 2020 SXSW Film Festival, but is now on hold amid the ongoing coronavvirus crisis.

“The Harvey part of the doc was one of the last things that made it into the movie,” Kevin Smith shared. “Having watched the doc without any mention of him in it, it felt like — well, whitewashing. It felt like something was missing.”

Harvey Weinstein has reportedly recovered from the coronavirus while in prison.
