American Idol is hitting the road!

The long-running reality TV competition announced on Sunday night (May 6) that the Top 7 finalists from the current season of Idol, along with special guest Season 8 winner Kris Allen, will be hitting the road later this year.

Cade Foehner, Caleb Lee Hutchinson, Catie Turner, Gabby Barrett, Jurnee, Maddie Poppe and Michael J. Woodard will all be joining Kris on the 40+ city tour, which kicks off in July in Redding, Calif. and wraps up in September in Washington DC.

ABC Boy Band winners In Real Life will also be joining the Top 7 on select dates.

Ruben Studdard, Jordin Sparks, and Kris Allen cut the ribbon to kick off auditions for ABC’s reboot of American Idol on Thursday (August 17) at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

The thee former winners were joined by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse for the celebratory moment.

While the auditions have begun, these are not the auditions in front of the official judging panel. The show has yet to lock in all three judges and only Katy Perry has signed on so far.

Kris Allen and his wife Katy are parents for the second time!

The 30-year-old former American Idol winner and Katy welcomed their newborn daughter Rose Elizabeth into the world on Saturday (June 18) at 4:15pm, according to People.

The baby, who will be called Rosie, weighed in at 7 lbs., 10 oz., and measured 19 inches long.

“It’s A Girl!! Welcome to the world Rosie. Oh man…I am done. She’s already got me figured out I think. Excuse me while I go learn how to braid hair on YouTube for the next 13 years…cuz that’s how long it’s gonna take me. #itsagirl #rosie,” Kris wrote on Instagram along with the first photo of his baby girl.

Kris and Katy are also the parents of a two-year-old son named Oliver.

Kris Allen hits the stage for a performance during the finale of American Idol on Thursday night (April 7) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The 30-year-old season eight winner was joined for a David Bowie tribute performance by four other winners – season 14′s Nick Fradiani, season 11′s Phillip Phillips, season 7′s David Cook, and season 9′s Lee DeWyze.

The five guys are all in that “white guy with guitar” category and producer Nigel Lythgoe opened up to THR about the performance.

“I promise you, if they went out on tour, and each did 20 minutes in their own right and 20 minutes together, this is a sell-out tour, they’re so good together. The ‘WGWG’ tour,” he said.

The track is the first to be released from the 30-year-old American Idol winner’s upcoming fourth studio album Letting You In, which is due out on March 18th!

“I felt like I needed to sift through my life and try to figure out what really I wanted to say on this album,” Kris told Billboard. “I’m really proud of this record and excited for the fans to hear it! I think they’re really going to love it”

Jennifer Lopez leans over Keith Urban to chat with Ryan Seacrest on the American Idol panel at the FOX portion during the 2016 Winter TCA Tour held at the Langham Huntington Hotel on Friday afternoon (January 15) in Pasadena, Calif.

The two judges and host were joined by Harry Connick, Jr. and mentor Scott Borchetta as well as several Idol alums.

Season 10′s runner-up Lauren Alaina and winner Scotty McCreery, Season 14′s Nick Fradiani, Season 8′s Kris Allen, Season 7′s David Cook, Season 6′s Jordin Sparks, and Season 2′s Ruben Studdard also joined the discussion.

On the panel, all three judges and Ryan were quick to say that this current season may not be its’ final.

“You never know with a format like this – it’s possible,” Jennifer shared during the debate of whether season 15 was the “final” or “farewell”. “Whether they’re making a mistake, if that’s the feeling, right now, that’s their feeling…At the end of the day you never know.”

Ryan added, “I was just speaking to Gary and Dana [cochairs/CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman] before the session. The numbers look great this season and we’re all pleased people are watching, and some are coming back to watch…Does that mean it’s the end? I’m not so sure.”

Kris Allen‘s wife Katy O’Connell is pregnant with their second child!

The 30-year-old singer, who won season 8 of American Idol, and his wife announced the news on Instagram with a cute pic of their son Oliver wearing a big brother t-shirt.

“#2016 is gonna be a good year!” Kris captioned the pic on Instagram.

“Happy New Year everyone! So much for our family to look forward to in 2016!!! :D” Katy added on her own personal account.
