Judge Len Goodman Might Not Return To 'Dancing With The Stars' This Season - Find Out Why

When Dancing With The Stars returns, it might be without longtime head judge, Len Goodman.

According to new host and executive producer Tyra Banks, Len is still in England and because of travel restrictions to and from both countries could be left out of the show.

“Carrie Ann [Inaba] is definitely back, and Bruno [Tonioli], who I can’t wait to vibe with because he is just as crazy as I am,” Tyra confirmed, before adding that Len might be absent.

“At the moment, we’re trying to figure out how to incorporate Len Goodman because he is in England, and there’s all these travel restrictions because of COVID-19. So we’re trying to figure that out,” she shared.

We’ll have to wait to see if Len will return when the season kicks off on Monday, September 14 on ABC.

Tyra also confirmed that popular pro dancer Derek Hough will be back in the ballroom.

“I am very excited about that because I know Derek and he’s fun,” she said. “But you just gonna have to wait and see how he’s coming back.”

It was teased earlier this week that Derek would be back in a secret role. See the promo here!

Len Goodman Leaving 'Dancing With the Stars' After Season 20

Len Goodman will be leaving his post as a judge on Dancing With the Stars after the upcoming twentieth season, according to E! Online.

The 70-year-old dancing expert, who is also a judge on the UK’s Strictly Come Dancing, talked about his exit in an interview with Digital Spy.

“Next year, I’m not going to do the flying backwards and forwards – I’m not going to do the American show… I’ve got to have a bit of time off,” Len said. “I’ve got my wife, I’ve got my son, my mother is still alive and she’s in hospital – I’ve had virtually no time to go and visit her.

“So, I just need a bit of time off to get on with a normal life. And it was either Strictly went or the American one went or the tour went… I’m doing the spring one when I go out there… and that’s going to be my last one,” he added.

Julianne Hough was added to the judging panel this year to join Len and the other two original judges, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
