Apple TV+ Series 'Lady in the Lake' Pauses Filming After Production Is Threatened with Shooting

Filming has temporarily been paused on the set of the new Apple TV+ series Lady in the Lake.

The upcoming show, which is an adaptation of Laura Lippman‘s novel of the same name, takes place in Baltimore in 1966. It stars Natalie Portman and Moses Ingram, as well as Y’Lan Noel, Mikey Madison and Brett Gelman.

According to Variety, production was halted on Friday afternoon (August 26) after receiving threats of violence.

Ewan McGregor Calls Out Those Sending Moses Ingram Racist Messages

Ewan McGregor has co-star Moses Ingram‘s back.

This week, it was revealed that Moses had been receiving racist messages from online haters.

“There’s nothing anybody can do about this. There’s nothing anybody can do to stop this hate,” she shared. “I question my purposes in even being here in front of you saying that this is happening. I don’t really know.”

After hearing of the “hundreds” of messages, Ewan called them all out in a video message.

'Star Wars' Issues Statement About Racism Against 'Obi-Wan' Star Moses Ingram

The Star Wars franchise is speaking out against racism.

In a video posted to her Instagram Story, Obi-Wan Kenobi actress Moses Ingram revealed that she had been subjected to racist harassment online after the show’s premiere last week.

“There’s nothing anybody can do about this. There’s nothing anybody can do to stop this hate,” she said in the clip, noting that she had received “hundreds” of racist messages. “I question my purposes in even being here in front of you saying that this is happening. I don’t really know.”

The official Star Wars Twitter account issued a statement about the situation on Tuesday (May 31).

Ewan McGregor & New Wife Mary Elizabeth Winstead Make First Post-Wedding Appearance at 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' Premiere!

The new Obi-Wan Kenobi series is now streaming on Disney+ and a surprise red carpet premiere took place at the Star Wars Celebration fan event!

Ewan McGregor, who is reprising the title role in the new show, was joined by wife Mary Elizabeth Winstead at the premiere on Thursday (May 26) in Anaheim, Calif.

This is the couple’s first public appearance together since getting married last month!

Joining Ewan at the event were co-stars Hayden Christensen, Moses Ingram, Bonnie Piesse, Rupert Friend, Indira Varma, O’Shea Jackson Jr., and Simone Kessell, as well as director/executive producer Deborah Chow and writer/executive producer Joby Harold.

Obi-Wan Kenobi begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

The first two episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi are now streaming on Disney+. Following the premiere, the series will stream weekly on Wednesdays, until the finale on Wednesday, June 22.

Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor are ready for the premiere of their new Star Wars series!

The two actors, who appeared in the Star Wars prequel movies together, stepped out to promote their new Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi during a photo call on Thursday (May 12) in London, England.

Hayden and Ewan were joined at the event by co-star Moses Ingram and director Deborah Chow.

Obi-Wan Kenobi begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi (McGregor) faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker (Christensen), who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

The new limited series begins streaming on May 27. The first two episodes premiere that day, followed by new episodes weekly until the finale on June 22.
