Taylor Swift plays a song for the lucky crowd at her SiriusXM Town Hall event on Friday (August 23) in New York City.
The 29-year-old singer was asked by a fan to reveal her favorite lyric from her new album Lover, which is out now.
The lyric comes from the bridge for the song “Death By a Thousand Cuts” and it goes: “Our songs, our films, united we stand / Our country, guess it was a lawless land / Quiet my fears with the touch of your hand / Paper cut stains from our paper-thin plans.”
“That was a fun one to write, I gotta admit. It’s like this ranting bridge [and] basically Jack [Antonoff] and I love to write ranting bridges. Just call him Jack Rantanoff. We just rant on bridges. We started doing that on a song called ‘Out of the Woods’ a while ago… like you know, a bridge that takes the song up a level. Take it to bridge city and we live there,” Taylor said. “Not a surprise that my favorite lyric would be from a bridge, but that’s my favorite right now today, at this moment, this morning.”
FYI: Taylor is wearing Stella McCartney.
