Taylor Swift Reveals Her Favorite Lyric from the 'Lover' Album

Taylor Swift plays a song for the lucky crowd at her SiriusXM Town Hall event on Friday (August 23) in New York City.

The 29-year-old singer was asked by a fan to reveal her favorite lyric from her new album Lover, which is out now.

The lyric comes from the bridge for the song “Death By a Thousand Cuts” and it goes: “Our songs, our films, united we stand / Our country, guess it was a lawless land / Quiet my fears with the touch of your hand / Paper cut stains from our paper-thin plans.”

“That was a fun one to write, I gotta admit. It’s like this ranting bridge [and] basically Jack [Antonoff] and I love to write ranting bridges. Just call him Jack Rantanoff. We just rant on bridges. We started doing that on a song called ‘Out of the Woods’ a while ago… like you know, a bridge that takes the song up a level. Take it to bridge city and we live there,” Taylor said. “Not a surprise that my favorite lyric would be from a bridge, but that’s my favorite right now today, at this moment, this morning.”

FYI: Taylor is wearing Stella McCartney.

Taylor Swift's 'Daylight' Lyrics Include This Nod to 'Red'

The final song on Taylor Swift‘s new album Lover is called “Daylight” and it features a moment that is a nod to her album Red.

In the song, Taylor sings, “I once believed love would be burning red, but it’s golden like daylight.”

Fans think this line is a reference to something Taylor wrote in the liner notes for her album Red. She said, “And there’s something to be proud of about moving on and realizing that real love shines golden like starlight, and doesn’t fade or spontaneously combust. Maybe I’ll write a whole album about that kind of love if I ever find it. But this album is about the other kinds of love that I’ve recently fallen in and out of. Love that was treacherous, sad, beautiful, and tragic. But most of all, this record is about love that was red.”

“Daylight” is a hopeful song about how she has found true love after searching for it for so long.

In the final moments of the track, Taylor speaks in what seems to be a voice memo. She says, “I wanna be defined by the things that I love. Not the things I hate. Not the things that I’m afraid of, I’m afraid of/. Not the things that haunt me in the middle of the night. I, I just think that you are what you love.”

Taylor Swift's Lyrics for 'Soon You'll Get Better' Are About Her Mom

Taylor Swift is providing some background for her new song “Soon You’ll Get Better” from Lover and she revealed it’s about her mom Andrea‘s battle with cancer.

The 29-year-old singer collaborated with the country music group Dixie Chicks for the emotional new song.

“That was really, really hard to write, and it was just a family decision whether to even put it on the album,” Taylor told fans about the song during her YouTube Live Stream. “We as a family decided to put this on the album, and it’s something I’m so proud of, but it’s just really hard. I can’t sing it. It’s hard to just emotionally deal with that song. You’ll understand what I mean in a couple hours.”

Taylor revealed to fans four years ago that her mom was battling cancer and then earlier this year, she opened up about how her mom is facing the disease again.

“And I hate to make this all about me / But who am I supposed to talk to? / What am I supposed to do? / If there’s no you,” Taylor sings on the track.

Taylor Swift's 'Cornelia Street' Lyrics Follow Early Days of Joe Alwyn Relationship

Taylor Swift sings a lot about her relationship with boyfriend Joe Alwyn on her new album Lover and one song that fans are loving is “Cornelia Street.”

The 29-year-old singer is seemingly singing about the early days of their relationship during the song. She says that she was renting a place on New York City’s Cornelia Street and that if the relationship didn’t work out, she’d never be able to walk around that area again.

“And I hope I never lose you, hope it never ends, I’d never walk Cornelia Street again,” Taylor sings in the chorus to the song.

Taylor and Joe started dating in late 2016 and they are still going strong as a couple today.

Wondering where Cornelia Street is? It’s a tiny street in the West Village neighborhood of New York City. It’s just steps away from the West 4th Street subway station off 6th Avenue.

Who is Taylor Swift's 'I Forgot That You Existed' About? Lyrics Decoded!

The first track on Taylor Swift‘s new album Lover is a song called “I Forgot That You Existed” and fans are pretty sure they know who she is talking about.

The 29-year-old singer never expressly name drops anyone, but it’s clear that she’s singing about someone who she once had a feud with.

Taylor‘s most famous public feud was with Kanye West and she referenced him on her previous album reputation. This new song could be her way of completely closing that chapter and saying she’s not going to think about him again.

“But then something happened one magical night, I forgot that you existed. And I thought that it would kill me, but it didn’t. And it was so nice, so peaceful and quiet,” Taylor sings.

In the first verse, Taylor sings, “And I couldn’t get away from ya / In my feelings more than Drake, so yeah.”

Drake is someone who has also been in a feud with Kanye.
