Jason Sudeikis Doesn't Know If 'Ted Lasso' Will Return For Season 4

Jason Sudeikis won the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series at the Emmys this past weekend, but after winning, said he was still not sure if Ted Lasso was coming back for another season.

“I don’t know, it’s up to more factors than myself,” the 46-year-old actor told reporters after Ted Lasso won Outstanding Comedy Series.

“The response has been overwhelming. We have a tremendous group of writers, actors, people in production and post-production, all of those thrown in the jambalaya of possibility. I couldn’t say yes or no. I know this part of the show is what it’s supposed to be. I apologize for not giving you a direct answer because that’s more helpful for headlines. If I knew, I wouldn’t tell you,” Jason said.

Hannah Waddingham Responds to Rumors 'Ted Lasso' Will End with Season 3

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday night (July 21), the 47-year-old actress told guest host RuPaul gave fans some insight into whether the beloved Apple TV+ series would be back after season 3, which the series co-creators have hinted will be its last.

Hannah Waddingham Was Doubtful That Jason Sudeikis Would End 'Ted Lasso' With Just Three Seasons

Hannah Waddingham wraps her arms around co-star Juno Temple while arriving at Ted Lasso‘s special screening held at The Maybourne Beverly Hills on Monday (July 18) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The two actresses were joined by co-stars Brett Goldstein, Kola Bokinni, Jeremy Swift, Sam Richardson, James Lance, Cristo Fernández, Toheeb Jimoh, Sarah Niles, and Phil Dunster for the FYC event.

During the event, Hannah admitted that she was sure Jason Sudeikis, who also serves as the series co-creator and EP, wouldn’t end the Apple TV+ show with just three seasons.

“I thought Jason would be pushed and pushed [to keep going],” she told Deadline. “I have an immense sadness because she’s brought quite a lot to my life. Jason has as well—an immeasurable amount. He has changed my life. He’s changed how I view people.”

Hannah added that they only have a handful of episodes left to film.

“We are halfway through shooting Season 3 and I would like to pause things because I’m not ready to say goodbye to her in three episodes,” she shared. “Brett and I were talking about [saying goodbye] earlier and we’re both a little bit in denial but have been expecting it since the word go at the same time. It’s like a long, slow mourning. I love her, man. She’s the girl—my girl— that I’m walking along next to and serving. I know that sounds dramatic but that’s how I feel. I feel her rippling through my bloodstream and I’m not ready to not walk with her anymore.”

Earlier this year, Jason opened up about ending the show at three seasons.

FYI: Hannah wore a Herve Leger dress.
