Al Pacino reflected on his career during a recent appearance, spilling some major details about his biggest movies and one blockbuster that he could have starred in.

On Wednesday (April 19), the 82-year-old Scarface icon appeared at The 92nd Street Y, New York.

During a conversation there, he revealed a role that he passed on, which ultimately gave another actor a breakout gig. He also opened up about a moment when he was told that he was a disappointment on the set of The Godfather and how he turned things around.

The 34-year-old Whiplash star will play producer Al Ruddy in the upcoming Paramount+ series The Offer, based on the behind-the-scenes tale of the making of The Godfather, Variety confirmed Friday (May 28).

'The Godfather' TV Series in the Works at Paramount+

A series about the making of The Godfather is in the works!

ViacomCBS’s new streaming service Paramount+ has announced the new series The Offer, which is based on Oscar-winning producer Al Ruddy’s experience while making the hit movie, Deadline reports.

Al worked closely with director Francis Ford Coppola along with Bob Evans and Mario Puzo on making the 1972 movie.

The 10-part series, produced by Paramount Television Studios, is written and exec produced by Michael Tolkin. Al will also serve as executive producer on The Offer.

The Godfather won the Oscars for Best Picture, Best Actor for Marlon Brando, and Best Adapted Screenplay for Puzo and Coppola.

Paramount+ is set to launch in 2021.
