Thomas Markle went to the press after the airing of Oprah with Meghan and Harry to discuss the last time he spoke with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

“The last time we spoke — actually, we didn’t speak, we actually texted each other — I was laying in a hospital bed after having a heart attack,” the 76-year-old said on Good Morning Britain. “I had to tell them that I couldn’t come to the wedding [in May 2018]. At that point, we had pretty much said goodbye.” This would put their last conversation in May of 2018, just before their wedding.

Then Thomas seemed to change his story a bit and indicate that it was a phone call.

“Harry had said to me at that point, ‘If you had listened to me, this wouldn’t have happened to you.’ And me, laying in a hospital bed after I’ve had a procedure and getting a stent put here and a stent put here, felt that that was kind of snotty, so I hung up on him,” Thomas said indicating it was an apparent phone call. “And that’s the last conversation we ever had.”

“Bottom line is I’ve never heard back from Meghan or Harry in any way, shape or form,” he said, adding he will continue to go to the press until they contact him. “I would love to hear from them.”

“I’ve never played naked pool and I’ve never dressed up like Hitler,” he added, seemingly referencing Prince Harry’s infamous Las Vegas trip in 2012 and his wearing of a Nazi costume in 2005.

Thomas has indicated he has felt ghosted by his daughter.

Fans of the former royal couple thought that Meghan did not mention her father in the Oprah interview, but she did.

During Oprah with Meghan and Harry, Meghan Markle revealed that a member of the royal family inquired about what Archie‘s skin tone may have looked like when he was born.

Meghan said there were “concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”

This caused Oprah to say, “WHAT? There’s a conversation with you about how dark your baby is going to be?”

“Potentially, and what that would mean or look like,” Meghan said.

Thomas Markle went on Good Morning Britain this morning and was asked about this allegation.

“The thing about what color will the baby be or how dark will the baby be, I’m guessing and hoping it’s just a dumb question from somebody,” he said. “It could be somebody asked a stupid question rather than being a total racist.”

“I have great respect for the royals, and I don’t think the British royal family are racist at all,” Thomas said. “I don’t think the British are racist. I think Los Angeles is racist, California is a racist, but I don’t think the Brits are.”

Oprah did eventually reveal which two royals were NOT part of these conversations.

Meghan did speak about her relationship with her estranged father during the tell all.

During Oprah with Meghan and Harry, many wondered why Oprah Winfrey did not ask Meghan Markle about her father, Thomas Markle.

Well, it turns out she did and the interview was edited out. Now, the clip has been revealed.

In the clip, Meghan discussed the staged photos of her dad from before her 2018 wedding, where he was working with paparazzi for press. At the time, it was unclear to Meghan and Prince Harry that Thomas was working with the press.

“We called my dad, and I asked him, and he said, ‘No, absolutely not.’ I said, ‘You know, the Institution has never intervened for anything for us, but they can try to go in and kill this. But if they do this once, we’re not going to be able to use that same leverage to protect our kids one day,’” Meghan said to Oprah. “I said, ‘We won’t be able to protect our own kids one day,’ and I said, ‘I just need you to tell me. If you tell me the truth, we can help.’ And he wasn’t able to do that. And that for me has really resonated, especially now as a mother.”

“Everyone has accountability. They hunted my mom down,” she said of Doria Ragland, her mom. “You never heard her say a word. She’s remained in silent dignity for four years watching me go through this.”

She was then asked about her half sister, Samantha Markle.

“I think it would be very hard to tell all when you don’t know me,” she said. “This is a very different situation than my dad, right. When you talk about betrayal, betrayal comes from someone that you have a relationship with. I don’t feel comfortable talking about people that I really don’t know.”

She also added that Samantha changed her last name back to “Markle” when she learned Meghan was dating Prince Harry.

If you missed it, another huge bombshell was just revealed about the interview.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s text messages to her father, Thomas Markle, in the days leading up to their May 2018 wedding have been released.

The texts were included in legal documents obtained by TMZ as part of Meghan‘s lawsuit against an English tabloid. The lawsuit was filed in response to the tabloid publishing a private letter that Meghan wrote to her estranged father.

One text message was from Prince Harry and was sent 5 days before the wedding and just two days after Thomas was caught staging paparazzi photos – all after suffering an apparent heart attack.

“Tom, it’s Harry and I’m going to call you right now. Please pick up, thank you,” one text read. Another text Harry sent before the wedding read, “Tom, Harry again! Really need to speak to u. U do not need to apologize, we understand the circumstances but ‘going public’ will only make the situation worse. If u love Meg and want to make it right please call me as there are two other options which don’t involve u having to speak to the media, who incidentally created this whole situation. So please call me so I can explain. Meg and I are not angry, we just need to speak to u. Thanks.”

Another text read, “Oh any speaking to the press WILL backfire, trust me Tom. Only we can help u, as we have been trying from day 1.”

After backing out of the wedding amid controversy, Thomas spoke to the press to tell them Meghan had texted him. These texts indicate the couple tried to get him to stop talking to the press, and start talking to them.

In another text, Duchess Meghan wrote to her dad, “I’ve been reaching out to you all weekend but you’re not taking any of our calls or replying to any texts… Very concerned about your health and safety and have taken every measure to protect you but not sure what more we can do if you don’t respond…Do you need help? Can we send the security team down again? I’m very sorry to hear you’re in the hospital but need you to please get in touch with us… What hospital are you at?”

The text continued saying that she and Prince Harry were “dispatching the same security guys you turned away this weekend to be a presence on the ground to make sure you’re safe.”

These texts were all submitted by the Duchess’ legal team.

Since Duchess Meghan‘s wedding, Thomas has spent a lot of time speaking about her in the press and has claimed she ghosted him despite her friend denying this claim.

Thomas Markle, the father of Meghan Markle, is slamming his daughter and Prince Harry‘s decision to remove themselves from the royal family.

“With Meghan and Harry separating from the royals, it’s disappointing to me because she actually got every girl’s dream,” Thomas said in a clip from a documentary released by the Daily Mail. “Every young girl wanted to become a princess and she got that and now she’s tossing that away … it looks like she’s tossing that away for money.”

“I don’t know what they’re looking for,” he added. “I don’t think they know what they are looking for.”

“When they got married, they took on an obligation, and the obligation is to be part of the royals and to represent the royals. And it would be foolish for them not to. This is, like, one of the greatest, long-living institutions ever. They are destroying it, they’re cheapening it, they’re making it shabby. They’re turning it into a Walmart with a crown on it now. It’s something that’s ridiculous; they shouldn’t be doing this,” he added.

It could be that Thomas Markle and Meghan Markle come face to face soon in a situation that may not be pleasant.

Last year, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan Markle filed a lawsuit against the Mail on Sunday for allegedly publishing a letter she wrote to her father, Thomas Markle, unlawfully.

Court documents that were filed on Tuesday (January 14) revealed that Thomas is actually part of the Mail on Sunday’s defense, the Daily Mail reports. The Mail on Sunday will argue that the publishing of the letter was lawful as there’s a “huge and legitimate” public interest the royals and their “personal relationships.” Thomas may be called to testify in the case as a result.

According to the documents, they believe Thomas “had a weighty right to tell his version of what had happened between himself and his daughter including the contents of the letter.”

Thomas and Duchess Meghan‘s relationship has been the focus of a ton of speculation after they had a public falling out.

Thomas Markle doesn’t agree with daughter Meghan, Duchess of Sussex (AKA Meghan Markle) and Prince Harry‘s plan to “step back” from the British royal family.

The 74-year-old retired lighting director got candid in an interview with Us Weekly hours after the couple broke the news.

“I’ll just simply say I’m disappointed,” he said.

If you didn’t already know, Meghan and Harry made headlines earlier in the day by announcing their intention to “step back” as senior members of the Royal Family and “work to become financially independent.”
