Alicia Keys looked absolutely beautiful at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards and her makeup-free face sparked a lot of social chatter.

The 35-year-old singer received a lot of praise for the “empowering” move, but also received some criticism from trolls online.

Alicia took to her Twitter account the day after the show to explain that she isn’t “anti-makeup” despite the move.

“Y’all, me choosing to be makeup free doesn’t mean I’m anti-makeup. Do you! 😘😘,” she captioned a selfie of her blowing a kiss to the camera.

Beyonce pops up behind Chance the Rapper while surprising him during an interview backstage at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards held at Madison Square Garden on Sunday (August 28) in New York City.

The 34-year-old entertainer was walking off stage and decided to make Chance‘s interview extra special.

“Oh my god! That was awesome!” Chance screams when he realizes who surprised him. “This is my life!”

The 23-year-old singer was seen meeting up with the label’s CEO Monte Lipman inside the event.

Ariana coupled up with Mac for the first time in public at the award show and they shared some cute and silly moments at their seats.

Rihanna switches into a fringe-covered dress while leaving an after party following the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night (August 28) in New York City.

The 28-year-old singer went to Up&Down nightclub with her rumored boyfriend Drake and he was wearing a more casual outfit after presenting to Rihanna during the show.

Rihanna posted some cute photos on her Snapchat account of herself and Drake posing with her family members in her dressing room after the show. See those in the gallery!

Drake steps on Rihanna‘s long dress while walking arm-in-arm backstage in this new video from the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards held at Madison Square Garden on Sunday (August 28) in New York City.

The video surfaced on MTV employee Sandra_Jay’s Instagram account. The video shows Drake trailing Rihanna, seemingly after her Video Vanguard acceptance speech, when he suddenly trips over her long train.

Fans melted when Drake professed his love for Rihanna on stage during the show while presenting her with the Video Vanguard award.
