Allyson Felix Becomes Most-Decorated Woman in Olympic Track History

Allyson Felix is going down in history.

The 35-year-old track and field athlete became the most-decorated woman in the history of Olympic track on Friday (August 6) after claiming the bronze medal in the 400 meters race at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

After finishing in third in the race, she won her 10th career medal, breaking a tie with Jamaica’s Merlene Ottey and matching Carl Lewis, the most decorated U.S. athlete in track, via AP.

She began competing in the Olympics starting with the 2004 Games in Athens, Greece. She previously won six gold medals, and three silver medals. She may even get an 11th medal in the upcoming 4×400 relay final this weekend!

Allyson Felix is married to sprinter and hurdler Kenneth Ferguson, and the two welcomed a daughter, Camryn, in 2018.
