As the 2020 Olympics start to wind down, more athletes are awarded with shiny gold, silver and bronze medals and fans might be wondering just how much they make from their wins.

Top contenders like United States, Great Britain, Australia, China and Russia, have always gifted the top athletes with a nice amount of money.

This year as a bonus, Team USA gold medalists earn $37,000 for the achievements, while silver medalists bring home around $22,000 and bronze medalists earn $15,000.
