How Involved Are the BTS Members In Each Other’s Solo Releases? RM Shares Insight Into Which Members Heard His Solo Album Before It Dropped

After BTS announced plans to embark on a brief hiatus, the K-Pop group’s various members started rolling out solo material.

Most recently, group leader RM dropped his debut solo album Indigo. Shortly before that, Jin unleashed “The Astronaut.”

While promoting the album, RM shared some insight into how involved his bandmates were in its creation.

RM explained to Variety that the group doesn’t share much of their solo music with each other before it comes out.

“We’re family, so we have our specific distance from each other,” he said.

“The only one I shared the whole music with was J-Hope, because he gave me a listening session before his Jack in the Box came out, so I just paid back the same. And he loved the track with Erykah, and the ‘Wild Flower,’ which is amazing.”

Despite the fact that they don’t hear everything in advance, RM made it clear that the band is supportive. “When something comes out, we always watch it or we listen to it, but we’re just, ‘Aw, that was good. Aw, you look cute.’ We just usually don’t judge or easily advise somebody, because it’s their own,” he added.

He also shared why it was easier that way: “And I want just other members to listen to it when it actually comes out, on an actual music platform. The casual listening session would be good, but still, I think we’re family — therefore, we’re too close. We know each other too much.”
