On the sudden death of his best friend, Jamal Edwards

Music entrepreneur Jamal Edwards died suddenly in February of last year at the age of 31. His cause of death was due to cardiac arrhythmia from using cocaine.

“My best friend died. And he shouldn’t have done.. I’ve always had real lows in my life. But it wasn’t really till last year that I actually addressed it,” Ed said about the sudden death of Jamal.

The night before Jamal passed, Ed told Rolling Stone that he was actually out to dinner with Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Joe Alwyn. Ed and Jamal were texting that night making plans to shoot a video.

“Twelve hours later he was dead,” Ed shared.
