Will the Original Avengers Star In Any More Marvel Projects? Here's What the 6 Actors Had to Say (Someone Really Wants Another Solo Movie!)

Chris Evans

Chris Evans – Captain America

Chris last suited up as Cap in 2019′s Avengers: Endgame. He has since handed the mantle and iconic shield off to Anthony Mackie‘s Sam Wilson who will star in Captain America: Brave New World.

Does that mean this is the end? Chris weighed in on returning to the role in November 2023 amid those rumors about the six stars reuniting.

“You know, I always see those reports too, and it’s news to me. I think every couple months, someone says that they’re getting Downey, and [Chris] Hemsworth, and Scarlett [Johansson], and everyone’s coming back,” he said on The View, adding, “No one’s spoken to me about it. And look, I would never say never, but I’m very protective. It’s a very precious role to me, so it would have to be just right.”

Robert Downey Jr.

Robert Downey Jr. – Iron Man

Robert‘s last outing as Iron Man was also in 2019′s Endgame, and his character died onscreen while saving the world from Thanos. While on the Literally! podcast in January 2024, he joked that he didn’t have any big news to break about a MCU comeback “just yet” (via Variety).

However, it appears that was just a joke and that there are absolutely no plans to bring him back.

Marvel president Kevin Feige stressed that there would Tony’s heroic death would not be unwritten during an interview with Vanity Fair, saying, “We are going to keep that moment and not touch that moment again. We all worked very hard for many years to get to that, and we would never want to magically undo it in any way.”

“We’d already said tearful goodbyes on the last day of shooting. Everybody had moved on emotionally. We promised him it would be the last time we made him do it—ever,” director Joe Russo added.
