Taraji P. Henson Shuts Down Oprah Winfrey Feud Rumors Again, Reveals What Oprah Recently Texted Her

Taraji P. Henson is giving more details about her relationship with Oprah Winfrey after shutting down feud rumors.

If you didn’t know, Taraji played Shug Avery in the 2023 musical film version of The Color Purple, and Oprah served as a producer. Fans began to speculate that Taraji and Oprah were feuding after Taraji spoke out about pay disparity for Black women in Hollywood. Both Taraji and Oprah have previously denied the rumors.

Recently, Taraji gave her thoughts about why she thinks the feud rumors went viral.

“When have you ever seen me drag another woman, particularly a Black woman, ever? I’m 10 toes down for us. I think it was just a campaign so that this Black movie wouldn’t do well,” she said while on “The Breakfast Club.”

Taraji also revealed the friendly exchange she recently had with Oprah.

“Me and Oprah, I have such love and fondness for her. She just texted me the other day, commending me for a job well done in Straw. So that was all fictitious, to try to draw a wedge between us, I’m not going to let them do that. I came to her defense,” she added.

Earlier this month, Taraji attended the premiere of Straw with other major celebs.
