“It didn’t feel like that big of a deal to me only because Kai had been so feminine for so long,” he said.

He explained, “Each family’s experience is unique… embracing and supporting a trans child is crucial.” The actor has spoken proudly about Kai’s courage and individuality, and the two have appeared together at public events.

Robert De Niro has expressed his unwavering support for his daughter Airyn, now 29 years old, after she came out as trans.

“I loved and supported [deadname] as my son, and now I love and support Airyn as my daughter,” he said. “I don’t know what the big deal is. I love all my children.” His words underscored that for him, unconditional love remains the same no matter what.

Cher has long supported her son Chaz Bono, who came out as trans in 2009.

She admitted it was an adjustment at first, but said: “It wasn’t easy… But then you have one child, but you don’t really lose them — they just are in a different shape. Chaz is so happy… I don’t know what people’s problems are.” Cher continues to speak out in support of trans rights.
