Eli Roth Says Rio Olympics Are Giving Him 'Hostel' Ideas!

It seems that Eli Roth has been getting some ideas for an upcoming movie while watching coverage of the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics.

The filmmaker is the creator of the Hostel franchise and he teased that he has ideas for a new addition to the series.

Eli wrote and directed the first two films in the franchise. A third was produced in 2011 and went direct to video.

“The Olympics are giving me ideas for a new Hostel in ways I could never have predicted,” Eli tweeted on Thursday night (August 18). He possibly is referring to the ordeal that Ryan Lochte and his teammates are going through right now.

Ryan Lochte Gas Station 'Robbery' Video - Watch Security Cam Footage Here

Ryan Locthe‘s story of being robbed in Rio is under question and security camera footage of him and his teammates at the gas station has been released.

The 32-year-old swimmer and Olympic gold medalist says that he was robbed at gunpoint during a night out with teammates Jimmy Feigen, Jack Conger, and Gunnar Bentz, but authorities are not believing the story and the guys could be charged with filing a false police report if their story isn’t actually true.

Police say that a security guard pointed a gun at the swimmers after they vandalized a bathroom at the gas station.

Ryan is claiming that the video from the security cam that was released was also edited. Watch it below.

While Ryan is safely back in the U.S., Jack and Gunnar were both detained while trying to catch a flight out of town and Jimmy was questioned while still in Rio.

Ryan Lochte Fabricated Rio Robbery Story, Officials Claim

Brazilian police believe that Ryan Lochte fabricated the story about getting robbed at gunpoint last weekend in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

According to AP, the 32-year-old swimmer and his teammates – Jack Conger, Gunnar Bentz, and Jimmy Feigen – actually stopped by a gas station at around 6 a.m. and broke the bathroom door to get it open.

A security guard then confronted them about it with the store’s manager, and made them pay for the damage.

The guard was allegedly armed with a pistol, but “never took it out or pointed it at the swimmers.”

Jack and Gunnar, who who were pulled off their plane while heading back to the United States, reportedly told police that the robbery story was made up.

This story is still developing…

U.S. Swimmers Detained at Rio Airport In Connection with Ryan Lochte's Robbery Case

US swimmers Gunnar Bentz and Jack Conger are escorted to police headquarters at the Galeo International airport very early Thursday (August 18) in Rio de Janiero, Brazil.

The pair were already on their flight, which was set to depart on Wednesday (August 17), but were pulled from the airplane because more information was needed about an armed robbery case they reported.

Gunnar, Jack, and fellow American swimmers Ryan Lochte and James Feigen claimed they were robbed at gunpoint in Rio over the weekend, but police have reportedly found no evidence to back up the story.

A judge ordered that Ryan‘s passport be seized, but he is already back in the United States.

Patrick Sandusky, United States Olympic Committee spokesperson, told People in a statement, “Jack Conger and Gunnar Bentz were detained Wednesday night shortly before their flight was scheduled to depart from Rio. They were released by local authorities with the understanding that they would continue their discussions about the incident on Thursday.” More Here! »

Usain Bolt Places First in 200m, Justin Gatlin Fails to Advance

Usain Bolt puts his hands over his mouth after competing in the Men’s 200m Semifinals during the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday (August 17) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The 29-year-old runner from Jamaica came in first with a time of 19.78 seconds.

Unfortunately, Team U.S.A. member Justin Gatlin finished in third, one spot shy of qualifying for the final.

“It’s a showman’s sport’” Justin said (via USA Today). “I think the rivalry that I have with Usain and myself has turned it into a professional-wrestling feel. You know, everyone’s cheering for Usain but they have to have someone they’ve got to boo against.’”
