Ryan Murphy Wins His Second Gold Medal for Backstroke in Rio

Ryan Murphy celebrates after winning the gold medal in the Men’s 200m Backstroke Final during day six of the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics on Thursday (August 11) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The 21-year-old swimmer is clearly the best backstroke swimmer in the world as he also took home the gold medal in the Men’s 100m Backstroke Final earlier in the week.

Ryan set an Olympic record for his 100-meter event and he beat out Australia’s Mitch Larkin, a favorite in the competition, in the 200m event.

Congrats to the budding star swimmer!
