The 2019 MTV Video Music Awards boosted sales for the performers that hit the stage – and now, the numbers are in!

This year’s awards show, which aired on August 26, resulted in gains in both digital downloads and streams according to Billboard on Wednesday (September 4).

The show resulted in a “74% boost in sales for the tracking week of Aug. 23-29, according to Nielsen Music,” Billboard reported.

The songs performed on the show, not included newly released tracks, sold a total of 93,000 downloads for the week and earned 99.6 million on-demand streams, which was an increase of 17%.

The song that gained the largest sales was Missy Elliott‘s “Pass That Dutch,” which moved 1,000 downloads for a 1,185% increase, and was streamed 391,000 times for a boost of 124%.

The other six songs performed during Missy‘s Vanguard medley increased at least 492% in digital downloads and 66% in streams, with “Work It” leading in terms of total volume at 4,000 downloads and 3.5 million streams.

Lizzo’s “Good as Hell,” originally released in 2016, enjoyed 21,000 more downloads, up 215%, and 8.7 million streams, an increase of 27%, resulting in a Billboard Hot 100 at No. 52.

Missy Elliott is reaching out to fans and followers to help her find a missing necklace.

The 48-year-old entertainer took to her Instagram Story to reveal that she is missing one of the diamond necklaces she wore to the 2019 MTV VMAs – and is offering a reward to the person who finds it.

“Anyone found this necklace at the VMAs backstage or know anything about it there’s a reward,” Missy wrote along with a close up of her chains, pointing out that it is the shorter one that is missing.

Missy attended the VMAs to perform an electrifying medley of her hit songs before she was honored with the Video Vanguard Award.

The 2019 MTV Video Music Awards aired last night (August 26) and the show hit record lows for the network, though some positive news is that the decline in viewers is much smaller than in past years.

1.93 million viewers in the coveted 18-49 demo tuned in for the show on MTV, down from the previous low set last year with 2.25 million viewers in the key demo, according to THR.

Overall, across the 12 channels that aired the VMAs, 4.9 million people watched the event. This number is down from the 5.2 million last year. Previous years have had steeper declines, so this is probably a relief for MTV.

The network says the social and online engagement had an 85 percent jump from last year, which means more people are watching via online streams.

Alyson Stoner had almost no time to rehearse before her epic performance with Missy Elliot at the 2019 MTV VMAs!

The 26-year-old entertainer revealed that she was asked to be a part of the show just a day before it took place!

Alyson took to her Twitter to share the details about the performance, where she recreated her exact routine from the “Work It” music video from 17 years ago.

“Let’s talk quick facts.. HiHat hit me up a day before to jump in, said ‘do your thing’ and then it was showtime. 😅😳🙏🏽💁🏻‍♀️ But those grooves don’t leave your system. ❤️,” Alyson wrote.

She later added a shout out to Missy, writing, “Love you. Forever grateful. Thankful for your warmth, diligence, spirit. It’s the greatest honor to celebrate you with the world. Still geekin!!! ❤️❤️”

The 48-year-old music icon and the 31-year-old “Truth Hurts” hit-maker were joined at the event by Cardi B, Adriana Lima, Lil Kim, Queen Latifah, Regina King, Winnie Harlow, Naturi Naughton, Ice T and his wife Coco Austin.

At the after party, guests enjoyed specialty Courvoisier Cognac cocktails throughout the evening.
