The trailer for Passing is finally here!
Adapted from the celebrated 1929 novel of the same name by Nella Larsen, Passing tells the story of two Black women, Irene Redfield (Tessa Thompson) and Clare Kendry (Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga), who can “pass” as white but choose to live on opposite sides of the color line during the height of the Harlem Renaissance in late 1920s New York. After a chance encounter reunites the former childhood friends one summer afternoon, Irene reluctantly allows Clare into her home, where she ingratiates herself to Irene’s husband (André Holland) and family, and soon her larger social circle as well. As their lives become more deeply intertwined, Irene finds her once-steady existence upended by Clare, and PASSING becomes a riveting examination of obsession, repression and the lies people tell themselves and others to protect their carefully constructed realities.
Alexander Skarsgard, Bill Camp, Gbenga Akinnagbe, and Antoinette Crowe-Legacy also star.
The film hits select theaters on October 27 and will debut on Netflix on November 10.
Jason Bateman has found himself in the middle of a murder investigation in The Outsider.
HBO has released the first trailer for their upcoming thriller miniseries.
Based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel of the same name, The Outsider begins with a seemingly straightforward investigation into the gruesome murder of a young boy. But when an insidious supernatural force edges its way into the case, it leads a seasoned cop and an unorthodox investigator to question everything they believe in.
The series also stars Ben Mendelsohn, Cynthia Erivo, Bill Camp, Mare Winningham, Paddy Considine, and Marc Menchaca.
The Outsider will premiere on HBO on January 12, 2020.
Rooney Mara joins her fiance Joaquin Phoenix at the 2019 New York Film Festival!
The 34-year-old Mary Magdalene actress was there to support the 44-year-old actor at the screening of his new movie Joker held at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on Wednesday (October 2) in New York City.
Joaquin suited up while Rooney donned a one-shoulder black dress with matching pumps.
Joaquin was also joined by his co-stars Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Bill Camp, Josh Pais, Dante Pereira-Olson, and director/writer/producer Todd Phillips.
Also in attendance were basketball player DeAndre Jordan and ice hockey player PK Subban.

In the film, the 51-year-old Avengers: Endgame actor takes on a corrupt chemical company.
Mark Ruffalo plays “a tenacious attorney [who] uncovers a dark secret that connects a growing number of unexplained deaths due to one of the world’s largest corporations. In the process, he risks everything – his future, his family, and his own life – to expose the truth.”
Directed by Todd Haynes, Dark Waters also stars Anne Hathaway, Tim Robbins, Bill Camp, Victor Garber, William Jackson Harper, Bill Pullman, and Mare Winningham.

The drama premieres on April 6 on HBO.
Joaquin Phoenix, dressed as The Joker, makes a mad dash away from two officers while filming The Joker on Sunday (November 25) in New York City.
The two officers, played by Shea Whigham and Bill Camp, seemed to be chasing him for an action sequence for the upcoming standalone movie about Gotham’s most infamous villain.
