3 Actresses Auditioned to Play Wonder Woman Before Gal Gadot was Cast (1 Said She 'Never' Had a Chance)

Gal Gadot‘s portrayal of Wonder Woman made her the leading lady of the DCEU, but she faced some stiff competition to book the part.

The actress joined the DC Comics franchise alongside Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill and was lauded as one of the brightest lights for her portrayal of Diana Prince in 2016′s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Since then, Gal has reprised the role in several projects, including two solo movies. There have been ongoing questions about her future in the franchise.

She’s synonymous with the character, but Gal had to audition for it alongside several other stars.

In fact, we can say for a fact that she faced off against at least three actresses to land the part. Of them, two opened up about their experience auditioning. One of them even explained why they knew that they “never” had a chance to land it.

James Gunn Shares Exciting 'Superman Legacy' News Following SAG-AFTRA Strike

James Gunn has some exciting news for fans of Superman following the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike.

The co-chairman and CEO of DC took to social media on Saturday (November 11) to provide an update on his upcoming movie Superman: Legacy, which stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane.

Like all other projects, it was put on pause during the strike. While that caused delays in a multitude of other movies, including over at Marvel, James let fans know that Superman: Legacy was on track for it’s planned release date.

David Ayer Explains Why 'Suicide Squad' Was the Movie That 'Broke' Him

David Ayer is looking back on one of his biggest movies, which wound up being one of his biggest disappointments – Suicide Squad.

The director tackled the 2016 movie, which starred the likes of Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Viola Davis and Cara Delevingne. Despite being a box office hit, it was largely panned by critics. David was not involved with the sequel, which premiered in 2021 and was directed by James Gunn.
