The 42-year-old Orange is the New Black actress arrived at the United Palace Theatre in New York City’s Washington Heights for the awards show on Sunday night (June 11) wearing a colorful suit with a crop top.

She cradled her baby bump while posing for photos, effectively confirming that she was expecting a little one – her first. Uzo also took to social media to share a sweet statement about her happy news.

Back in September, the 40-year-old Orange is the New Black actress surprised fans when she revealed that she and filmmaker Robert Sweeting married nearly a year ago in a secret ceremony in New York.

Uzo Aduba and her husband Robert Sweeting are making their red carpet debut at the 2021 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 19) at The Event Deck at L.A. Live in Los Angeles.

This isn’t only their red carpet debut – it’s their first official red carpet outing as husband and wife!

Last year, Uzo and Robert got secretly married and we did not find out about it until just a few days ago.

Uzo is nominated this evening for her work in In Treatment in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category. Best of luck to all of the nominees!

The Emmys ceremony this year is being hosted by Cedric the Entertainer and the show will be broadcast on CBS and the Paramount+ streaming service. The Creative Arts Emmys were handed out last weekend and the full winners list has already been announced for those awards!
