'He's All That' Actor Tanner Buchanan Talks About Playing LGBTQ+ Roles
Tanner Buchanan is best known for his work in the series Cobra Kai and he’ll soon be seen in the upcoming Netflix rom-com movie He’s All That.
The 22-year-old actor has previously played characters in the LGBTQ+ community in his guest spots on The Fosters and Major Crimes.
Now, Tanner is opening up about those roles and whether he’d ever play another LGBTQ+ character in the future.

“I do come from the Midwest and it can be a little conservative sometimes,” Tanner told Variety. “Growing up, people aren’t exposed to the world and I was lucky enough to have come out to LA where it’s a completely different world than Midwest. And my eyes were open to that from a very young age that I was like, ‘Yeah, that makes sense.’”
Tanner said he’d love to play Robin in an upcoming Batman movie. For those who don’t know, the superhero is bisexual in a new issue of the comic book Batman: Urban Legends.
“If I have the opportunity to represent something like that, that’s incredible,” he said. “If they’re willing to write it, then you know what? Of course I’m going to play it.”
Tanner was spotted packing on PDA with his girlfriend last month while in Italy.
