Alec Baldwin Hit with New Lawsuit Over Fatal Shooting on 'Rust' Set

Alec Baldwin is facing another lawsuit over the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

According to Deadline, the actor has been named in a complaint along with Rust producers and production companies, armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed and more.

The filing comes from script supervisor Mamie Mitchell, who is being represented by Gloria Allred.

Alec Baldwin should have assumed that the gun in question was loaded unless and until it was demonstrated to him or checked by him that it was not loaded,” the documents state. “He had no right to rely upon some alleged statement by the Assistant Director that it was a ‘cold gun.’”

“Mr. Baldwin cannot hide behind the Assistant Director [Dave Halls] to attempt to excuse the fact that he did not check the gun himself,” it continues.

Mamie Mitchell was reportedly in the church location on the Bonanza Creek Ranch when the accident happened. She made the 911 call to Santa Fe police after Halyna was shot, telling operators, “we need help immediately.”

Gloria Allred said at the end of October, “We are conducting our own investigation of what happened because there are many unanswered questions. [Mamie] has information and evidence which she believes will be helpful in this investigation.”

Last week, it was announced that Alec was also being sued by Rust gaffer Serge Svetnoy, who named him in a complaint of general negligence.

Alec recently spoke out about gun safety on sets.
