Former 'AGT' Contestant Skilyr Hicks Dies at 23

Skilyr Hicks, a one time contestant on America’s Got Talent, has tragically died at the young age of 23.

The singer-songwriter competed on season 8 back in 2013 and made it to the second round.

Skilyr was found dead at a friend’s home on Monday (December 6) in Liberty, South Carolina, her mom Jodi revealed. The cause of death is unclear, but Jodi did emphasize that her daughter “battled with mental health issues, including depression and substance abuse,” according to TMZ.

Jodi added, “She will live on through her music.”
