Netflix's 'The Adam Project' - Will There Be a Sequel? Details Revealed!

The Adam Project is here!

The highly anticipated film arrived on Netflix on Friday (March 11).

In The Adam Project, Ryan Reynolds plays a time-traveling pilot who teams up with his younger self (Walker Scobell) and his late father (Mark Ruffalo) to come to terms with his past while saving the future.

Also starring in the movie are Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Garner, and Catherine Keener. The movie is directed by Shawn Levy, who previously worked with Ryan on Free Guy.

“I haven’t personally done a movie that reflects my life the way The Adam Project does,” Ryan said in a statement.

“In The Adam Project, Ryan and I aimed to combine a heightened time travel premise with grounded and relatable characters and themes. We talk a lot about wish fulfillment being so critical to the movies we love and to the movies we want to make,” Shawn shared.

Now, fans who have watched are already wondering about a potential sequel.

IndieWire spoke to Shawn Levy about the movie upon its release.

“On The Adam Project, there was so much love for it in early cuts at Netflix, and the question of a sequel came up,” he explained.

“And Ryan and I talked about it and we both said, ‘You know what? This thing is exactly what we set out to make, and I think we’re just going to leave this here,’” he continued.

“There was never pressure to leave it more open ended, but I suppose, gun to my head, I could come up with sequel ideas for The Adam Project. I’m not currently inclined to pursue those, because this movie resolves itself with exactly the feeling that I wanted, which is that combination of warmth and tears, but also hope. I want to leave that one as is.”
