Nathan Fielder Reveals Elizabeth Holmes Called Him From Prison With a Mysterious Message
Nathan Fielder is opening up about an unexpected phone call from Elizabeth Holmes!
The 43-year-old filmmaker revealed that the former Theranos CEO recently contacted him from prison, just ahead of the theatrical release of his new documentary about her, You Can See Everything.
During the conversation, Elizabeth, 42, repeated a message to Nathan that left him unsure what she meant.
The comedian shared the details in a new interview with WIRED, published on Monday (October 19).
What Did Elizabeth Holmes Say to Nathan Fielder?
Nathan said he noticed two missed calls from a prison number one morning, followed by a third call that he answered.
He explained that he had not heard from Elizabeth in more than six months.
During the conversation, he asked whether she had seen any coverage of the documentary and how she felt about its upcoming release.
According to Nathan, she told him that she had heard some things about the movie, but had not been able to read much of the coverage.
Toward the end of their conversation, she told him, “I trust you.”
The filmmaker said he thanked her, and they continued talking about her children and other personal matters that he did not want to share publicly.
However, Elizabeth repeated the same message before they ended their call.
Nathan admitted he was confused by the exchange, telling the outlet, “And I don’t know what she meant by that.”
He also said the unexpected conversation made him feel as though his experience working on the documentary was still unfolding.
“I think it sort of makes it feel in my mind that, like, it’s continuing to this day,” he explained.
The documentary, which Nathan directed alongside Lance Oppenheim, follows Elizabeth and her family in the weeks before she began serving her federal prison sentence in May 2023.
You Can See Everything opened in theaters on Friday (October 16).
The movie earned an estimated $15 million domestically during its opening weekend.
Elizabeth remains in prison following her conviction on fraud-related charges connected to Theranos. Find out when she’s set to be released as of right now.
