Danai Gurira & Andrew Lincoln Surprise Fans & Co-Stars at 'The Walking Dead' Panel During Comic-Con

Danai Gurira and Andrew Lincoln made a surprise appearance at 2022 Comic-Con!

The Walking Dead alums surprised fans and their former co-stars at the series panel on Friday (July 22) as they announced the upcoming limited series that they’ll be returning for in the franchise.

Their appearance came with a lot of hugs from their co-stars at the panel, too.

Andrew and Danai joined Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Josh McDermitt, Seth Gilliam, Lauren Ridloff, Cailey Fleming, and Michael James Shaw at the event.

During the panel, Norman and Melissa reflected on the end of the series, which will start to air AMC on October 2.

“I kind of just want to cry and make out with everybody at the same time,” Norman shared. “It feels good, though… I’ve made some of my best friends on this show. For most actors, this never happens. And for most of us, it may never happen again.”

Melissa added, “This whole experience has been amazing, out of this world. I never thought it would become what it became.”

Netflix Movie 'Penguin Bloom' Isn't Actually About Penguins - Learn More About the Inspiring Story!

The new movie Penguin Bloom is now streaming on Netflix and anyone looking for a movie about penguins might be disappointed, but the film is definitely worth a watch.

The film tells the inspiring true story of Sam Bloom, played by Oscar-nominated actress Naomi Watts, who was paralyzed from the chest down following a fall while on vacation in Thailand.

In 2013, Bloom, her husband Cameron (The Walking Dead’s Andrew Lincoln) and their three sons left their home in Australia for a holiday in Thailand. While enjoying a view, Sam fell off of a rooftop due to what was later determined to be a rotted railing… breaking her vertebrae in two places. Paralyzed from the chest down, Sam — a lifelong outdoorswoman, surfer, and traveler — was unrecognizable to herself, and spent long months in a depression that made her question who she could be in the world and in her own family.

A year later, her children brought home a wounded baby magpie they found. Warily eyeing the black-and-white bird the kids affectionately named “Penguin,” Sam bonded with the household’s new member, beginning a process of emotional healing that surprised her husband and sons, her mother (Jacki Weaver), and herself.

The inspiring movie premiered last year at the Toronto Film Festival and it was released theatrically in Australia on January 21. Audiences in the U.S. can now stream the movie from the comfort of their home thanks to Netflix.

The film currently is fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a 63% rating.

Andrew Lincoln Sports Rick Grimes-like Beard During Sighting With Bill Nighy in London

It looks like Andrew Lincoln is getting back into character as Rick Grimes.

The 47-year-old actor was spotted out in London with Bill Nighy, who he starred with in Love, Actually, and couple of other friends earlier this week and Andrew was seen sporting a very white beard that reminded many fans of his Walking Dead character.

“Wow! Look at the Rick beard” and “Time to get some movies out” were just some of the reactions to Andrew‘s look.

Last year, it was reported that Andrew‘s Rick Grimes would be starring in a few movies in the franchise and they would head to theaters first. However, with the pandemic, it’s uncertain if that remains.

The untitled movie would answer what actually happened to Rick, since he’s been away from his family on series.

Earlier this year, Andrew made a shocking confession about the AMC series. See what it was here!

Andrew Lincoln Still Hasn't Watched 'The Walking Dead'

Andrew Lincoln revealed back in 2017 that he doesn’t watch his own show The Walking Dead and the series’ showrunner says he still hasn’t watched!

The 46-year-old actor previously said, “I’m choosing to ignore the whole thing. I couldn’t even look at myself in the old-age makeup. Couldn’t bear it. I don’t watch the show at all. I am allergic to my own face.”

The other day, there was a virtual Comic-Con panel for the upcoming spinoff series The Walking Dead: World Beyond.

Scott Gimple, who is now the chief content officer for the franchise, revealed that Andrew still hasn’t watched the show.

“No, he has not watched it,” Scott said. “I will say, one time I was doing a DVD commentary with him on an episode he wasn’t in, ‘The Grove.’ Five minutes into it, I was like, ‘You’re not watching this, are you?’ He’s like, ‘No, no I’m not.’”

Andrew is set to star in a Walking Dead film series that will be made in the coming years.

So much news was revealed for the Walking Dead franchise last week!
