Jared Leto is all over your TV screens on April Fools’ Day!

The 52-year-old actor and singer appeared on two different programs that day, starting with a surprise appearance on Wheel of Fortune on which he fooled viewers while pretending to be host Pat Sajak.

After making his entrance on stage with Vanna White, Jared walked over to the contestants and introduced the first puzzle of the night. “Alright everybody, grab those devices, it’s time to give away some money. $1,000 and our first toss-up category is on the map,” he said while introducing the puzzle.

April Fools Day is the day of the year when you can never really trust anything you read online!

Now that this year’s holiday is over, we are looking back on some of the wildest celebrity pranks that we saw circulating the web.

From false casting rumors to book releases and product launches to a total career about-face, some of these pranks had us going for a second. Others, we saw through in an instant. Either way, they gave us a laugh.

Octavia Spencer is showing fans the text message that she received from longtime friend Taraji P. Henson on April Fools’ Day!

The Oscar-winning actress shared a screencap of the message, which said, “Did you mean to post nudes on your story?” Taraji then pressed the enter button a bunch of times to make sure Octavia had to keep scrolling to see the rest of the message, which said, “April Fools! Just kidding, in case your heart dropped!”

Octavia responded to the texts by saying, “Girl my heart dropped. Lmao.”

She shared the screencap on Instagram and captioned the post, “Just got this from @tarajiphenson and nearly fainted. Omg #ShesSoDayumFunny #ScaredTheHellOuttaMe.”

Taraji‘s Empire co-star Gabourey Sidibe commented and said, “I got it too! I threw the phone!”

Google is not participating in April Fools’ Day, despite their long-standing tradition of playing pranks on the holiday.

The search giant announced that they will skip the fun due to the ongoing pandemic, according to a report on Tuesday (March 31).

“Under normal circumstances, April Fool’s is a Google tradition and a time to celebrate what makes us an unconventional company,” Lorraine Twohill, Google’s marketing chief, wrote in an email obtained by Business Insider.

“This year, we’re going to take the year off from that tradition out of respect for all those fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. Our highest goal right now is to be helpful to people, so let’s save the jokes for next April, which will undoubtedly be a whole lot brighter than this one,” she went on to say.

“We’ve already stopped any centralized April Fool’s efforts but realize there may be smaller projects within teams that we don’t know about. Please suss out those efforts and make sure your teams pause on any jokes they may have planned — internally or externally.”

Google has been pulling annual April Fools’ Day pranks on the public since 2000, when they created the “MentalPlex.” They’ve also feigned reports for human settlement on Mars and a “mic-drop button” for Gmail.

Kim Kardashian‘s children North and Saint planned an elaborate April Fool’s Day prank on their dad Kanye West…and it involved Kim pretending to be dead!

“[North] roped him into an April Fool’s prank yesterday that was ridiculous. She took ketchup into my bathroom, and she begged me to let her spread it on me, and on the bathroom, as if it was like a bad scary movie. Then she asked me to lie down,” Kim told Elle.

She continued, “I thought she was just playing, maybe that she was going to say I was hurt. No. She taught Saint how to fake-cry—she showed him how to do it!—and then she told him to scream ‘Mommy’s dead!’ Kanye ran upstairs and he was like, ‘Kids, this is not funny. This is not a good prank.’ I completely understand and I agree. But it did make me a little impressed that they planned something together, and they were getting along and having fun as a team.”

Jennifer Garner‘s April Fool’s Day prank fooled some people this morning on social media!

Early this morning, the actress posted an announcement on social media that she’s written a memoir called “Bless Your Heart.”

“I’m thrilled and finally able to share with all of you—I’ve written a book! 🙈😬🙈This whole process has been humbling and illuminating, taking me deep into places I didn’t even know I could go. Tom Brady just announced that he’s retiring…however, we can only assume this is one epic April Fool’s Day prank!

The 41-year-old New England Patriots star quarterback joined Twitter on Monday (April 1) and his very first tweet read, “I’m retiring. In my spare time, I’ll be tweeting #LFG.”

Tom has always remained vague about when he’ll retire, but considering he just won the 2019 Super Bowl and is still playing at a high level, it’s safe to assume he’ll be in the league for a bit longer!

The regular NFL season will kick off in September.
