Watch Taylor John Smith Reveal to Reese Witherspoon That He Played Her 'Cruel Intentions' Love Child

Reese Witherspoon is the producer behind Taylor John Smith‘s new movie Where the Crawdads Sing, but that’s not the only connection they share!

Taylor was cast in the lead role in the Cruel Intentions television series that was being made by NBC. Only a pilot episode was made and the network decided not to move forward with the show.

The series was going to be set in present day, more than 15 years after the iconic movie left off. Taylor played Bash Casey, the love child of Reese‘s character Annette Hargrove and Ryan Phillippe‘s character Sebastian Valmont.

“Upon discovering his late father’s legacy in a hidden journal, Bash is introduced to a world of sex, money, power and corruption he never could have imagined,” Deadline reported back in 2016.

Justin Long Recreates Selma Blair's 'Cruel Intentions' Role in Hilarious Video with Sarah Ramos!

For the past year, Parenthood actress Sarah Ramos has been entertaining us with her Quarantscenes, where she acts out scenes from iconic film and TV series.

Sarah‘s latest entry to her comedic video series might be her best one yet. She recruited Justin Long to recreate a scene from the movie Cruel Intentions!

In the funny new video, Sarah plays Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s Kathryn Merteuil while Justin plays Selma Blair‘s Cecile Caldwell. The scene is the one where Kathryn advises Cecile to sleep with as many people as possible.

Justin wrote on his page, “Sarah started doing these brilliant homage videos at the start of the quarantine that I really fell in love with. Long before I became a big @saraheramos fan, I was a fan of Cruel Intentions and @selmablair – so getting to play Selma IN Cruel Intentions WITH Sarah was the most fun way to pay tribute to these funny + talented ladies. It also gave me a newfound appreciation for just HOW great Selma is in that movie (and how monstrous I look in comparison to her pretty face 😬).”

Selma reacted to the video on Justin‘s Instagram post by saying, “I am laughing and I love you and I see why you never would date me despite my business managers set up attempts years ago 😂. This makes up for it. Thank you dear Justin. Great work. 💋💋💋.”

Celebrate the 'Cruel Intentions' 20th Anniversary By Seeing it Again in Theaters

Today is a special day as it’s the 20th anniversary of the theatrical release of the teen cult class Cruel Intentions!

The movie was released on March 5, 1999 and while it was only a modest hit at the box office, it has become one of the most beloved movies of the 1990s over the past two decades.

Cruel Intentions is coming back to theaters for one week only to celebrate the anniversary and the re-release opens on March 22.

Sarah Michelle Gellar took to Instagram to commemorate the special day. She wrote, “Wait…today 20 years?!? I literally just realized today is the actual anniversary. Well 20 years later I may be even more proud of this film. Not very often do you get to be a part of cinema, that holds the test of time. @rogerkumble you are the most wonderfully disturbed person I know and I love you. @reesewitherspoon @selmablair @ryanphillippe (and not pictured @seanpthomas @vancityjax) you are even better actors and better people then you were then. Forget me- everybody loves this film and I intend to keep it that way.”
