'Cruel Intentions' Follow-Up TV Series in the Works at NBC!

Get ready for more from the Cruel Intentions world because a follow-up television series is in the works at NBC!

The new series will be set in the present day and follow “the rags-to-riches story of 16-year-old Bash Casey, the son of the late Sebastian Valmont (played in the film by Ryan Phillippe) and Annette Hargrove (Reese Witherspoon). Upon finding his late father’s journal, Bash learns of the family legacy he didn’t know existed. In search of answers, he trades his small-town Kansas upbringing for a scholarship to the prestigious Brighton Preparatory Academy in San Francisco and soon finds himself in a world of sex, money, power, and corruption he never could have imagined,” according to Deadline.

It is not known right now if the film’s original stars, which also include Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair, will appear on the series.

The new Cruel Intentions series will be executive produced by the film’s writer-diretor Roger Kumble and producer Neal H. Moritz, as well as the team behind The Unauthorized Musical Parody of Cruel IntentionsLindsey Rosin and Jordan Ross.
