Snoop Dogg Cancels Shows at Hollywood Bowl in Solidarity with WGA & SAG-AFTRA Strikes

Snoop Dogg is showing his support for the SAG-AFTRA and WGA members who are on the picket line.

The 51-year-old rapper was set to perform at the Hollywood Bowl alongside Dr. Dre in October as part of the 30th anniversary celebration of his debut album Doggystyle.

On Tuesday (July 25), Snoop announced that the shows had been canceled due to the ongoing strikes.

Hollywood Walk of Fame Announces Class of 2024: 31 Celebs Getting Stars Next Year!

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced the Class of 2024, consisting of 31 celebs who will be receiving stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year.

“The Selection Committee which is made up of fellow Walk of Famers, carefully hand-picks a group of honorees each year that represent various genres of the entertainment world,” said Chair and Walk of Famer Ellen K. “The Committee did an amazing job choosing these very talented people. We can’t wait to see each honoree’s reaction as they realize that they are becoming a part of Hollywood’s history with the unveiling of their star on the world’s most famous walkway!”

Hundreds of celebs were nominated and a committee selected the recipients on June 16. Dates have not been scheduled for these star ceremonies. Recipients have two years to schedule star ceremonies from the date of selection before they expire.

Rihanna's Super Bowl Halftime Show Resulted in Over 100 Complaints to the FCC - How Does That Compare to Prior Years?

Rihanna‘s performance at the 2023 Super Bowl contained a pregnancy announcement, a multitude of hits and some Fenty Beauty promo. According to people who wrote into the FCC with complaints, it was also outrageously sexualized.

According to The Hill, 102 people wrote to the Federal Communications Commission to complain about the “Disturbia” icon’s set during the Halftime Show.

Complaints highlighted things like “inappropriate touching and dance moves,” “perpetual air humping and glorifying being a stripper” and “genital grabbing.”

It was even referred to as “pornographic content,” according to TMZ.

Rihanna is hardly the first artist to take spark complaints to the FCC after performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show. In fact, it’s fairly common that at least a couple issues pop up every year, even when you might think a performance is fairly tame.

Dr. Dre Shares His Advice For Rihanna For Her Upcoming Super Bowl Performance

Over the weekend, it was announced that Rihanna will be performing during the halftime show at Super Bowl LVII this coming February.

The 34-year-old artist took the headlining spot after turning down the offer first in 2020. Rihanna will hit the stage for the show, which will be sponsored by Apple this year.
