It’s a special and bittersweet day for Ryan O’Neal.
The 79-year-old actor received star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next to the star of his late partner Farrah Fawcett.
Ryan visited the star on Friday afternoon (February 12) in Hollywood and he placed a rose on Farrah‘s star.
Also receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame that day was Ryan‘s Love Story co-star Ali MacGraw. Their stars are side-by-side to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their beloved movie. A limited edition Blu-ray copy of the film was just released to commemorate the occasion.
Ryan said during the virtual ceremony, “I grew up around Hollywood Boulevard, to tell you the truth. As a high school junior, I used to come to Hollywood Boulevard with my lads and look for fights and girls. Who would’ve thought [I would have] a star on the Walk of Fame? I thought I’d end up in jail and look where I am.”
“It’s a wonderful gesture and I’m going to come up to HB every once in a while to look at it. And my girls, my dear girls,” he added. “I’m glad I lived long enough to get my star.”

Farrah Fawcett‘s longtime love Ryan O’Neal is opening up about the couple’s relationship, 10 years after her passing.
The 78-year-old actor and former boxer dated Farrah for almost 20 years and shares son Redmond with the late actress.
After splitting in 1997, the couple reconciled in 2001 when Ryan was diagnosed with leukemia.
“There was never a day I didn’t love her,” Ryan told People.
Farrah‘s close friend Sylvia Dorsey added, “Ryan was the love of her life. I don’t think she was happy without him. They fought and loved with passion. It was never boring. They were electric together.”
Ryan spent the final days of Farrah‘s life at her bedside, where he finally proposed marriage.
“I think they would’ve married if she had made it because he asked her to marry him in the hospital and she said yes. But she took a turn for the worse. This was just a few weeks before the end, so perhaps it wasn’t realistic. The two of them had a deep bond and deep love. No matter what they went through, the ups and downs, he was the one she wanted by her side,” Farrah‘s friend Alana Stewart explained.
Farrah sadly passed away on June 25, 2009.
Anjelica Huston is opening up for the first time about allegedly being assaulted by her ex-boyfriend Ryan O’Neal back in the 1970s when they were dating.
The 63-year-old actress wrote about the brutal fight in her new book “Watch Me,” according to People.
“He turned on me, grabbed me by the hair and hit me in the forehead with the top of his skull,” Anjelica wrote. She says the incident happened at a party in Beverly Hills and Ryan was upset that she didn’t immediately return to him after going to the bathroom.
“I saw stars and reeled back,” Anjelica added. “Half blind, I ran away from him.”
Anjelica says she locked herself in the bathroom, but then allowed her boyfriend to speak with her alone. Instead, Ryan started “batting me about the head with an open hand. Then abruptly he left.”
