Six 'Umbrella Academy' Cast Members Team Together, Get Big Pay Raises!

Six cast members from The Umbrella Academy – one of Netflix‘s biggest hits, have banded together to earn pay raises for the upcoming third season.

Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin Min were the cast members that approached higher-ups together and will now earn over $200,000 per episode.

You may be wondering why the show’s star, Elliot Page, is not listed among his cast members. Variety reports that Elliot also received a pay increase but was not involved with the group’s decision to go in together. Elliot was paid a higher rate to begin with because of his star power before the show debuted. The source added that Elliot was “supportive of the group’s effort.”

'Umbrella Academy' Brings Back a Fan Favorite Character & Adds Five New Actors For Season 3

Netflix has added five new faces, and one familiar one, for the upcoming third season of The Umbrella Academy.

The series, which centers on seven children, who were adopted by billionaire industrialist Sir Reginald Hargreeves, who work together to solve a mystery surrounding their father’s death, will bring back Justin Min.

Justin‘s Ben had previously died in the second season, but will be returning for the new season, according to Variety.

However, Ben aka Sparrow No. 2, is not the Ben audiences remember. This Ben is “a Machiavellian tactician, wrapped up in a pretty boy body with a rumbling inner-squid. Vicious, pragmatic, and hyper-vigilant, Ben is determined to gain his status as the leader at all costs.”

A new piece of VFX will also be part of the show, and it’s called the “Existential Dread-Inducing Psykronium Cube” aka, Sparrow No. 7 or Christopher. It is a telekinetic cube of unknown origin that can turn the room freezing cold and induce paralyzing fear. But among the family, he acts as a consulted oracle, hands out incredible advice, and serves as the family mediator. To the Sparrows he is trustworthy and loyal, but like all of them he is a force with which to be reckoned.

Five new stars will join the series, which also stars Elliot Page, Aidan Gallagher, Robert Sheehan, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Ritu Arya, Adam Godley, and Colm Feore.

Here's What's Happening With Elliot Page's 'Umbrella Academy' Role Now

Elliot Page bravely came out as transgender on Tuesday (December 1), and now fans are wondering about the actor’s role in the popular Netflix series, The Umbrella Academy.

According to a new report from Variety, nothing’s going to change.

“Vanya is a cisgender woman whose superpower involves unleashing force through the use of sound. There are no plans to change the character’s gender, insiders told Variety,” the outlet reported.

Elliot “will continue to play the role of Vanya Hargreeves.”

Already, there are some major changes happening across social media and online: Elliot‘s credited name has been updated on The Umbrella Academy’s IMDB page.

Netflix is also in the process of updating Elliot‘s name in the metadata across all titles, according to the report.

“Trans actors can and do play both trans and cisgender characters. I’m sure Elliot will continue to be brilliant in Umbrella Academy and many different types of roles in the future,” GLAAD’s Nick Adams said in a statement to the outlet.

All of these celebrities have voiced their support for Elliot Page.
