Katie Ledecky Reflects on Crying on the Podium in Rio

Katie Ledecky holds onto her four gold medals on her neck while heading to a taping on the beach during the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics on Saturday (August 13) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The 19-year-old swimmer joined swimmer Maya DiRado, archer Brady Ellison and shot put gold medalist Michelle Carter at the taping for NBC, where they were seen doing a limbo under the Olympic Rings.

“I’ve had a lot of fun””I don’t know why I’m crying!” Katie shared after her big win last night, where she shattered her own record. “There were nights when I would go to bed and think about this day and how much fun I’ve had these past four years, and I would start crying right then. I just wanted to make this week count and have fun with it.”

She added, “It’s just been a heck of a week, and I’m glad to be a part of it. It’s a team that I’m always going to be really close with.”
