Nelly's Longtime Girlfriend Shantel Jackson Reveals They Split Via an Instagram Comment

Nelly and his longtime girlfriend Shantel Jackson have split after six years together.

The surprising news was revealed by Shantel in a comment on her Instagram page, which she left in response to a message from a fan.

“R u [and] Nelly still together? I love seeing u guys together,” one of Shantel‘s followers asked on her latest post.

Shantel answered and said, “No we’re not….. Just friends.”

No details for the cause of the breakup are known at this time, though it seems it was amicable as they are still friends.

Nelly said back in October that he was “working towards” marriage with Shantel. He told Entertainment Tonight, “She’s great. She’s really dope. We have a great time, and we understand each other. I would not want my life to not have Shantel in it. We’ve been seeing each other for five or six years. Any time you can connect with somebody like that, it works out for the long run. She’s sweet, beautiful, and the more we got to know each other, she’s just as beautiful inside.”
