Katharine McPhee and David Foster are parents to two-year-old son Rennie and while they don’t argue over their different parenting styles, they agree that they don’t see eye-to-eye on certain things.
When it comes to disciplining their son, they have different methods and they realize it’s because they grew up at different times.
“I want to start disciplining [Rennie] and Kat‘s not really down with that,” David told People.

Katharine McPhee and David Foster took to Instagram this week to show off their 17-month-old son’s budding musical talents.
David posted a video of Rennie playing a set of toy drums and he already has some great form on the instrument. “Is this normal for a 17-month-old?” he captioned the video.
David‘s daughter Erin Foster commented on the post, “The musician gene has finally been passed down. I’m still waiting for mine to kick in.” Nicole Scherzinger wrote, “Omg are you serious!?!!!” Kate Hudson commented, “Bings met his match! 🥁.”

Katharine McPhee and David Foster are currently on vacation in Capri and she shared a rare new photo of their baby boy Rennie!
The 38-year-old singer and actress took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday (July 7) to share a photo of Rennie resting in her arms while riding a boat in the sea.
“Too much fun in the sun ☀️,” Kat captioned the photo of Rennie, 17 months, taking a nap on her lap.
During the day in Capri, Kat also shared photos of her outfit. See all of the images in the gallery!

Katharine McPhee helped her husband David Foster celebrate Father’s Day this weekend!
The 38-year-old singer and actress was spotted out for dinner with David, 72, and more family members on Sunday (June 19) at Nobu in Malibu, Calif.
Among the family members who joined them for dinner were David‘s daughter Erin Foster. Though he’s not pictured, Kat and David brought along their one-year-old son Rennie.
Kat took to her Instagram account that day to share a touching Father’s Day message for David. She also shared a rare photo that included Rennie‘s face!

It’s a special day for the Fosters!
Katharine McPhee and husband David Foster are celebrating their second wedding anniversary today (June 28) and they have their newborn son Rennie by their side!
The 37-year-old singer and actress took to her Instagram account on her anniversary to share a cute photo of her with her four-month-old baby boy.
“Mommy & me,” Kat captioned the photo, in which she’s sitting in an inflatable pool with Rennie while sipping on a can of Blue Moon beer. Her baby boy was floating in an inflatable raft.

Katharine McPhee just shared the cutest video of her newborn son Rennie watching her Netflix series Country Comfort!
The 37-year-old entertainer said that this is “the ONLY screen time my baby is allowed to have 😌.”
Rennie‘s step-sister Erin Foster commented on the video and hilariously said, “Ugh, he’s gonna be so musical and make us look like real disappointments 😬.”
Country Comfort is Kat‘s new Netflix comedy series in which she plays an aspiring singer who becomes an accidental nanny to a family with five kids. The adorable new series also stars Eddie Cibrian and features a touching cameo from his wife LeAnn Rimes in one of the episodes.

Katharine McPhee revealed the name she and David Foster chose for their newborn son, born in February 2021!
The 36-year-old singer/actress and 71-year-old musician and producer chose the name Rennie David Foster for their baby, and she’s explaining the meaning behind his name.
During her appearance on the Today show, Katharine said, “Okay, well, his name, we haven’t said anything. My husband probably will kill me for saying it, but his name is Rennie David Foster,” she said, adding, “We picked Rennie cause I’d actually been in labor for a while. We didn’t have a name picked out.”
She continued, “We had a couple names, but my husband was on a text chain with his sisters and one of his sisters suggested an old family name,” she continued. “It was his great-grandfather’s name, his great-uncle’s name, so it has a long history in his family. My husband said, ‘Hi, Ren Foster,’ and so we said, ‘That’s a good name. It’s a strong name.’” Ren is such a sweet nickname!
This is the first child for Katharine and David. David has other children from previous relationships including Sara, 40, Erin, 38, Jordan, 34, Allison, 50, and Amy, 47.
