Roger Ebert: Two Thumbs Up!
Legendary film critic Roger Ebert keeps his spirits up and gives his patented two-thumbs up as he accepts the ShoWest Career Achievement in Film Journalism Award at the Paris Las Vegas in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday (April 2).
The 66-year-old film icon has been battling thyroid cancer since 2002 and in 2006 had surgery to combat the cancer. The surgery saved his life, however, he lost his voice in the process.
Via email, he said, “I am in good health, and cancer-free. After major surgeries, I have lost the ability to speak, which I did a great deal of over the years at Boulder. … But I can’t complain.”

Best wishes for health and happiness to Roger!
