Jimmy Fallon To Replace Jay Leno as 'Tonight Show' Host!

Jimmy Fallon will be taking over the reigns of The Tonight Show from longtime host Jay Leno beginning in 2014, NBC has officially confirmed!

The 38-year-old comedian and late night host of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon will take over the 11:35 pm EST time slot from Jay in the Spring of 2014 in New York City, where his former Saturday Night Live boss Lorne Michaels will act as executive producer.

“Congratulations Jimmy,” Jay said in a statement. “I hope you’re as lucky as me and hold on to the job until you’re the old guy. If you need me, I’ll be at the garage.”

Jay Leno is an entertainment icon, making millions of people laugh every weeknight for more than 20 years,” NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke added in a statement. “His long reign as the highest-rated late-night host is a testament to his work ethic and dedication to his viewers and to NBC.
