Emmys 2015 Ratings Were the Lowest Ever in the History of the Show

Andy Samberg poses for a photo by the bar at his private after party following the 2015 Emmy Awards on Sunday night (September 20) at Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles.

The 37-year-old actor hosted the show for the first time, but unfortunately it didn’t drum up a huge audience this year.

The initial ratings are in for the broadcast and it brought in an 8.7 overnight household rating and a 14 share, which means 8.7% of all television-equipped households in the country were tuned in and 14% of all households watching television at that time were tuned in.

Last year’s Emmys brought in a 10.9 rating and 18 share when the show aired in late August on a Monday night. This is a 20% drop from that show, according to Variety.

FYI: The event was hosted by Tequila Don Julio.
